Snowies!!

As of a week or so ago, there was a ton of snow in the snowies, so barring any major meltdown, I'd assume it's still good/decent up higher. (As Wayne said, give them a call.) If you can't ride directly from 10 mile, you can probably trailer a short way to get on snow that will bring you up to the good stuff, (where you'd end up anyway). Ask Cuzzinolaf to send you some pics. A few of his buddy's sent him a bunch while we attempted the UP, and the conditions looked great.

There is snow up top, I was informed that getting to it would require trailering at this time. Cooke got about a foot last night and has about double the snow up top as of now. 10 mile is way closer for me, but Cooke is my most favorite so no tears shed on the switch.

Just talked to Ten Mile and they are riding the ditch out, we had to do the same last year. Its more depressing than anything when all you see out your cabin window is tumbleweeds! lol This is still a couple weeks out so a lot can change, may just make a reservation and bail if things get worse.

How many in your group? Head to Cooke take the safe bet. Ask Ten mile about cancellation policy and pray for snow.

It is very tempting, we are already going to Togwotee area in Feb so we were looking to do a poor boys trip to somewhere closer. Not ruling it out but its about another 8 hrs in the truck to go to Cooke, we will see.

We were out between Christmas and New Years. Snowed the first few days with a foot and a half at Ten Mile and at least double that up top. Can't imagine that snow melting so much that you couldn't ride from Ten Mile.

Here is a thread of pics and videos. http://www.slednutz.com/showthread.php?p=123388
well imagine it. The owners of ten mile lodge is were I got my info. Can't really trailer anywhere is what they said, and who wants to do that. Cooke City reservations are made.

Wayne, I closed my eyes really tight and still couldn't imagine it. So I called Ten Mile at 307-362-5928. Kimberley said the snow in the ditch is groomed and ready to ride. She also said a storm was coming in the next few days. No need to trailer everyday which is a pain.

Already switched up and going to Cooke City. thank you for the additional info. I lost faith in the words "storm is coming".

I recognize those sled as Mitch and Rich. They were our neighbors at 10 Mile when we were there between Christmas and new years. Good guys, and as you can see the snow was awesome. I find it hard to believe that the sun did much damage to all that snow. The ditch out of 10 mile was packed hard from the groomer so I doubt it melted that much. I'm sure its fine.

well, we had planned for 10 mile. I have never been there. But no tears shed, Cooke is awesome and my 3rd trip there. nice to know my way around there to, it makes it short work finding the good stuff! I will try again for 10 mile next year.
