Well....not that they haven't tried. Jenny Granholm tried to get her grubby paws on it when she was governor, but she didn't succeed. But you're right, probably not a good idea to trust any of them for too long.

As an unaffected party (since I live in Michigan and not Wisconsin), I'm curious to hear from those who say it is fair -- why is it fair? By no means am I trying to start a war -- I honestly don't know, just trying to learn the rationale. Like I said, I don't have anything at stake but I'd like to learn the pros/cons.

the point is to join a club..but according to the main thread in misc..the prices quoted here are incorrect

YES.

Join a club where you do most of your ridding, if you can't spend time helping donate a hundred or two every year.

Works for me and I feel liked I helped

I do what dofo1 does. I picked a club in the area that I ride most. Because I am three hours away it is hard for me to volunteer. In that case I send $200 per year to the club. When I am in other areas and stop to eat, get fuel, etc. there is usually a jar for donations for the groomer. I make it a point to put $20 in the different clubs collection canisters.

What does irritate me is fact that the people that do not join a club, gripe about the trail permit prices, do not help out with the groomer collections are the first people that bellyache when they hit a little bump in the trail, and then sit in the restaurant or bar and complain to anyone who'll listen to them.
