Snowmobilers Stand Divided???

I think there are some issues that really polarize (no pun intended) sledders (I won't get into which now) and some of us have some very strong oppinions. The great thing about a forum like this is that you get to read about others points of views. Sometimes a post pops up that can make you see things a little differently and maybe cause you to be a little more understanding of others. The great thing is that once we get on the trail we are all brothers and sisters. Few groups would go through what we sometimes go through when we see one of our own in trouble, be it on the trail or in their daily lives. No matter how much we P,B&M on here, at the end of the day we are all one big happy (and sometimes dysfunctional) family.

Mike, as much as we haven't exactly seen eye-to-eye on some other issues, I couldn't agree with you more on this one!

Rant's and Raves...

Cooksend, that's whyI get on this sight to hear everyones opinions. It makes one think when you get different ideas. Sometimes I shut this laptop off P-O'd and sometime LMLO. Everyone that rides snow machines are really good sports about most happenings. Others just take it among themselves to set new rules.
I say when the S#$T hits the fan...smowmobilers on these forums will unite and take care of buisness. That's the way it should be!

If he would, or could, tell you what's wrong, you might be able to trace this odd behavior back to a time when he stood in front of a mirror and thought: "I'm 40 (or 45 or 55) and my time is limited. Eventually I'll die, but have I really lived? There are so many things I want to try, to do..." And he decides right there and then that he'll start, right now, he won't let another day slip by without catching up. The next thing you know, he's bought a hairpiece that looks like road kill on him, signed up at the gym, and bought a new snowmobile, truck and trailer.

I agree older guy's can be a problem . ( LOL ) I'm not buying a rug, when my hair finally gets to that point, I'm going to flop it over the top and have 2 big sideburns ( just like DAD ) and I'm not joining the gym, I'm buying another piece !

I think the "Associatioin of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs" moto pretty much sums up what the majority are saying, and that is, "UNITED WE TRAIL, DIVIDED WE FAIL"

A mental condition typically found in men in their early 40’s to late 50's brought on by the realization that old age is just around the corner. Symptoms include: frequent reminiscing about the “good ol’ days”, cranky judgmental attitude and a closed minded approach to anything new. Usually punctuated by the chronic need to play on a snowmobile and vote republican. The condition is difficult to cure and almost always progresses into old-timers disease.

Other symptoms include hatching plans for giving up his sales job, while taking all his savings to move to the U.P. and ride all day. He may have shaved his head, bought a snowmobile and acquired an 18-year old girlfriend?

If asked what's wrong, you will not be enlightened by his replies (remember the cranky judgmental attitude and close minded approach to anything new). He might say he doesn't know, or that he's just not satisfied with his life; now that the kids are grown he wants to toss the 6 passenger vehicle and buy a sports car, a snowmobile and a big truck and trailer to pull around. He doesn't know what's wrong, he just feels different, and only some big dramatic change can fix it.

And you wonder why we all can't get along...

D**n! I didn't know I got a sports car AND an 18 year old girlfriend!!! I gotta go, got some shopping to do!

Thanks for the link, but I am going to have to respectfully decline you generous offer. Due to the fact that I've struggled mastering the English language for just about my entire life (and have very little to show for it) I've chosen to impose a moratorium to the lexicon. I'm making a stand. I'm am refusing to acknowledge any abbreviation, symbol or word that are used by the "Professional Text Racers". I'm going to text full words and sentences and punctuate at my own pace. If I'm not texting up to your speed, just ease on by but be careful, because if you're not I'm going to whack you with a bat and throw your phone into the woods.

I did not read alla these posts but ,...familes have arguments all the time.

the biggest p match lately was the one about trail cloggers and rude behavior /rage on the trails and I think some good may have come from discussions on an open forum like this.....I for one love the 90% courtious sledders out there and there behavior will encourage others to join this fun pass time and increase our numbers to fight the real "eco "threats against us
