So much for riding Dec 18 to 23rd in the UP!

Mother Nature really hurt us today and the next few days don't look to improve much, and I was so looking forward to the wings at the Ramada on Tuesday night too!

I hear ya. We were supposed to leave on Tuesday for Twin Lakes but not now. It sucks when you wait the whole off season to ride and the first trip has to be postponed.

Feel the worse for those with kids that planned on the trip for a family vacation during the holiday break and for the businesses in the UP that really could use the income!

I hear ya!. I bought a left over Polaris Rush ProR this spring and just can't wait to ride it. There only so many imaginary miles you can put on sitting on it in the garage. I have three nights booked at the Ramada in Hancock after Christmas and as a back-up plan also in Munising. I need to cancel one before that week but both would be torture.

Just remember..... If you don't like the weather.... wait two minutes and check again! It will most likely change!

It sucks big time. I think this is only the second time since 1991 we haven't ridden in December somewhere with decent conditions. And in 1991, we rode in early November after the Halloween storm that dropped 30 inches. Feel bad for the business's up north. I don't ride during the holidays , but hope they get some good snows for the resort owners.

I'm a tad confused how its Mother Natures fault that a person didn't ride this past weekend with open trails and surprisingly good conditions from almost Gogebic to Houghton? And talk about not having good riding in the entire month of December? It is the 12th day of the month.....

I guess everybody has a different opinion of good conditions - look at the trail cam picture.............

you can't do much about the weather. I'll deal with it. I was hoping to come up to the UP the week after x-mas, but we'll wait and see.

:(

Looked at the trail cam and was bummed.
Also John's Forecast.

I get a kick out of the "optimistic" and "pesimistic" replies.
Sounds like me and the wife. My glass is always empty, hers half full.

Even though the weather "can" change on the snap of a finger,...
Most people don't have the luxury of being able to take off at the drop
of the hat when the U.P. does get dumped on,... and keep our fingers crossed for "local" snows to at least ease our appetites.
But it is a bummer when (even though it is only the 12th) to see temps in
the 40's and misting rain. November/December,... Late March/April,....
Grey skies, dead grass, bare trees, wind, and YUCK.
Remember in the "old" days during Christmas vacations when you'd be
outside playing in the snow, and the cars would have orange balls on the
antena's so you could see them over the snow banks?
I get to the U.P. as much as I possibly can,... but sure wish winter would
arrive back in N.E. Wisconsin (insert YOUR area) like it used to.
Maybe it is our "we get everything when we want it" mentality due to the
times we live in,.....
But I don't think so.
Pretty soon,.... the Rain/Snow line will be U.S. 2
:(

Gotta fill my empty glass to half full and go out in the garage
and sit on the sled and make vroom vroom noises!

THINK * SNOW!

for me it's not half full or half empty. I say, pour out whatever water you have and fill it with beer!

I feel the same way. Although it won't be 13 days. Our first trip we're leaving Saturday and returning on Wednesday. We were going to go to Twin Lakes for a day but I'm not sure if that will happen either. Three things that I know fore sure are; I will drink beer, I will hopefully catch fish, and I will relax in the woods.
