This is a view of a brand new Gulfstream 550 in Appleton, Wisconsin on Monday afternoon. First flight from the factory and it didn't quite make it. Not too much information yet other than no injuries and it's new and this was it's first flight. The left Landing Gear has collapsed and the Thrust Reversers on the Right Engine are deployed. These photos were taken from Highway 76 which runs on the west boundary of the airport. I couldn't tell if this was an aborted take-off or they ran out of runway coming in. Either way, a bad way to start your week.

UPDATE:
Three on board all safe. The aircraft was landing and was unable to stop before the end of the runway.

Hope no one got hurt. And yes that was a bad day for a couple of pilots for sure. I pray every day that something like does not happen to me or my fellow aviators.

Update

Three on board, all safe. The G550 landed and couldn't stop before the end of the runway.

Booondocker,
You do realize that Brakes are Extra on a 50 million dollar aircraft. You might want to check your invoice.

Actually most pilots will tell you that any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. And being able to use the plane again is a great landing!

I dont like flying so every time i get out of a plane unhurt i consider it an awesome day!

My bad John!... I don't think My Allen will even notice the cost to fix his new plane. With a reported net worth of $12.7 BILLION in 2010 he is doing ok.

On a serious note I am glad that nobody was hurt!
