Sure didn't sound to me like the guy HATES snowmobilers. He doesn't like them on the hill though.
Wish they could catch these punks!

Saw this last week on the guy's property across from Krupps' mini mart. There are two "no snowmobile" signs along the trail and there's tracks all over the place...

Absolutely especially after reading the comments by the manager of the mountain. If he was tackling snowmobilers that were rolling in the parking lot, then this issue would be even larger. He would be pushing to close the trail and making a bigger ordeal out of this whole mess.

Bottom line is use your head. Stay on the trail and respect others who share our same joy for winter, just in a different fashion.

This is a rediculous response, and i find it hard to believe the sledders were "tackled and assaulted". I'm calling BS on this.......[/QUOTE]

I was at bear bellys on Thursday and saw a couple riders that if had to guess who done it i would have picked them 2 but you never know . It would hurt the bar business there if they closed the trail.BTW the food and service was great.

X2....... seems to me that the owners are being very rational about the whole situation. Pretty simple stay on the trail please. The last thing I need is more people to take up off trail/backcountry riding. Staying on the trails=open trails which means less people off trail

Apparently you missed the part where it was only trespassing because they were on snowmobiles. I guess it's not trespassing if it's on ski's? For all we know they were skiers who caught rides up to the top like they used to do before it was a ski hill. I never defended the people who did this I simply pointed out a double standard.

This is the way it is at most ski hills. I'm not sure what's hard to understand about it?

Driving a car on road when sleds around is about the same to me as seeing deer appear on the shoulder. Slow down & put your D driving skills on the field. Happened to me today with sleds crossing FR. No idea if they knew I was there but I know trail jogs at this spot on road for 100 yards so brought it down about 5mph & sure enough they turned in front of me but no big deal just stopped & waved them across. I ride so know beelers may have limited visabilty in helmet so no big deal for me to be more careful when sleds around. Beelers bring big bucks to area so I'm cool with a few mistakes which may seem like HUGE mistakes to others. Trespassing that is unlawful no matter what the sport or mode of transportation. Just not acceptable anywhere or anytime.:(

boy, i hope that is a joke! snowmobile riders are like deer in the road now? that is absurd.

if the helmet is limiting your visibility for stop signs, highway crossings, no trespassing signs...then it is time to turn in the tracks for something safer like a tricycle. Folks that dont know that they are driving down the middle of the lane opposing traffic, not an honest mistake. somebody that crosses a highway (or stop sign after stop sign crossing driveways doing 60mph) is as intentional as the fool that rips up a ski hill...and as dangerous to the future of this and other freedoms we have.

to make excuses for any of this is simply absurd.

not only am i provider of lodging who wants sleds to come, i also live here and desperately want folks to come and enjoy, learn to love it here, and hopefully move here. we need new people and i am one of the biggest advocates for that. but to those that think that rules dont apply here in the north...stay home.

maybe i am taking things too serious but i cannot believe what i just read. last year i watched a thread with multiple posts about killing and causing physical harm to people that tourtured deer, now we are going to do the same to a tresspasser?

i think both the deer and the tresspass thing are bad..and their are laws to deal with these things and they should be utilized. to consider (or even joke about) killing or harming a human for either is something i cannot just walk away from without comment.

i hope it was a joke (i am sure it probably was). it worries me that nobody else found this in poor judgement.

No.......it's ok. They deserve to ride where ever they want! (yes, sarcasm) Every year, several times a year we hear about these
douche bags feeling the need to go off trail and wreck it for the ones that ARE responsible riders! I don't blame anyone or any
group that shuts down portions of trails that go through their property if it is improperly used. Man, this is a hot button for me!
It's called "respect", get some.

What about all the respectful, responsible, model snowmobilers that leave the trail and rip up miles of power lines, crossing and trespassing multiple private property parcels. Would this group or persons be looked as "acceptable trespassing" because no damage done or be included with these yahoo's that tore up the ski hill ?
