Speedomiter problem

Hello,


I was wondering if any knows something about speedomiters and cables. I have an 07 arcticat panther and my speedomiter only works for .3 miles and I can not get it to work again. It only works in the morning for about 3 minutes and then stopps. If any one can help please let me know.

then it's most likely the driveshaft bearing (maybe it could be that too on a digital speedo, i wouldn't know)

he said o7 so it is not a bearing prob the digital pickup in the diamond drive or the plug that connects the pickup the connector is right above foot well follow the wire on the back side of DD close to foot well up and then tug it down there will be a plug make sure it is connected have you had dd serviced lately? did you try pushing button to switch from tach to speed I think the top button on speedo switches analog speed to the tach and the speed to digital that would tell you if it was the gauge or pick up.if it was a old zr zl 1m style the above posts would be correct

I did replace the cable that connects at the bottom below the belt by the left foot and I connected it to the back of the speedomiter. There is only one connection in the back of it. I can not get the needel to move or mile numbers will not turn.

is the 07 diamond drive or chain case ?if diamond drive not the bearing if chain case it is the bearing

Arctic cat e parts shows it is not diamond drive. So might be bearing mine just went out on ZR 600 and speedo stopped workin. so might as well replace both sides. i hope this helps

Remove the speedo cable from the back of the guage, run the track and watch the cable, if it spins, the drive is probably ok, and may be the guage itself. Try spinning the cable with your fingers(not running) and see if there is resistance, or if it just spinns freely, like the other end is not attatched to anything. Then I would suspect the bearing going out.

you could also hook a drill up to the speedo cable. i turned my miles back .4 on accident lol so make sure you do it the right way
