STANLEY CUP Playoffs

What I am about to say hinges nearly 100% on the mindset of the team right now, but if it is still one where they firmly believe they can win this thing, then I believe the winner of the next game will be the winner of the series. Obviously not a tough call for Nashville, but I really think that the hawks have such a stacked team, especially for the playoffs that if they find their wings, look out.

FWIW, I made a similar prediction back in 2013 when the hawks were down 3 games to 1 against the Red Wings in the semi's.

It could also just be the Jack Daniels talking. :)

John, I think Jack knows what he's talking about especially the longer he hangs around!

On a serious note, the Hawks look dreadful. Again, the passing, turnovers, player position awareness, and once again, SHOOT THE DANG PUCK any chance you get! They're getting out hustled period! Not hungry enough...........

I agree with PD they're may be a few surprised trades and it will be interesting who they protect for the expansion draft.

You have to give Nashville a little credit. They are making the Hawks look bad. Take away the speed game with physical play and the Hawks are pretty ordinary. The same thing is happening in the Minny/Blues series. Plus both the Blues and Preds are getting excellent goal tending. The Blues/ Preds series will be a very low scoring affair. Grind it out. playoff hockey. Different than regular season hockey.

I agree, you have to give Nashville credit, but up until this point, all I have heard from many well schooled hockey fans is how poorly Chicago has been playing. No question it will be a huge undertaking for the Hawks to win this series and I seriously doubt they will.

With that said, the point of my earlier post was that if there ever was a team to be able to pull it off, it is this one. I know I am comparing apples to oranges, but who among us (or anyone but the players) thought that at halftime of this years Superbowl, the Pats would win? My point in this is only to show that when you have a team like that in your grasp, you NEVER can give them an ounce of leeway. They get on a roll and there is no stopping them.

I have no idea what is happening off the ice, or what the mindset is, but if things are still of a positive nature, then I would be just as surprised, if not more, to see them win 4 straight than lose 4 straight.

Only time will tell and I love the Second Season, no matter what happens, I also feel as blessed as can be to witness what the Hawks have done in the past 8 years!

I guess I also have the good fortune to NOT be able to listen to all the talking heads, especially the Chicago ones!

I thought they came out shooting. I saw a change in last night game. That fluke goal when the puck bounced off the top of glass, back over he net and in. Some times you get crazy bounces. That seemed to change momentum. You see that save rimme made when he was out of goal thinking the puck was going behind the net!?!?!?!? Some times you just get lucky in sports.

They can win 4 in a row. They need to dishing out more hits. Toews was getting his but kicked all game. You could see he was getting frustrated at a couple points.
Finesse only gets you so far when you are being physically beat in to the ground.

Nashville will try to finish them off at home on Thursday. Duh. They will have last change and that goes a long ways in countering Toews and Kane. Which is all they really have. The Chicago roster is simply not the same as it was the last time they won the Cup. They have been forced to send some good players away and the ones that are left are older. And most of the younger ones look a little shellshocked. Coach Q is still one of the very best there is. He just doesn't have the horses this year.

The Wild played a good game last night. Hope for some crazy come backs!

I was supposed to work last night, wasn't worried about missing the game. Wasn't even going to DVR it. But got cancelled for work because of rain. Turned on the game since I was home. Was rather glad I did. Wild had a good showing, no Blues shots on goal for 10 minutes into game. Of course for the Wild to get their 1st goal, had to catch Allen behind the net. (COULDN'T GET ONE PAST HIM the way he's been playing) That was kinda the kick in the tail they needed. 1st lead in the series, took 'em all the way to the Win.

Should not hav elistened to us Polarisdan. What a sad showing. Even on power plays the hawks were not even in it 100% So weak. Poor effort.

Dump Crawford and keep Darling. Pick up some players with some balls who can make hits.
Should be interesting. Think a LOT of changes are coming for next year.

Go Wild! hope thye can pull off a huge come back.

Heavily medicating.........................

Hard to blame Crawford when they only scored 3 goals in 4 games.

Not blaming him but he did nothing special. MAybe time to save some $ and go with the younger option.
I just expect some big changes after watching that pathetic series.

They are for sure going to have to choose between Darling and Crawford. One of them will not be there next season. The biggest need is defensemen. Seabrook is over and it looks like Keith has finally run out of gas. Chicago's offense starts with puck moving defensemen and they can no longer get it done. They get overpowered and outworked in their own zone. There is nothing wrong with the forwards. Kane and Toews are still good and Panarin is going to be special. They have some youth up front. The D needs attention. I am sure they will get it done. They don't like losing and they are not stupid. But yes - change is coming.

Well then you just buy them out. It has been done before and it can be done again. There is always a way. Again, most of the pieces are still in place. No need for a major blow up. Just some tweeking. Don't go looking for a tall building to jump off of.

yea i culdnt have been more wrong..outplayed, out hustled, and just plain indifferent..too many cup runs, olympics(hate) and world cups(stupid)..pro players shuld only play nhl..it takes too much out of them..this is what the end game is..

and grub i dont see what will change next year..u cant buy them out with 7 years left at 6 mil(seabs)..not gonna happen..only movable payer is jarlmelson(however u spell it)..i am shocked they would kill themselves with no trade clauses..absolutely bowmans biggest mistake..they all have them..im shocked and sickened by it..

so see ya in 2022
