Storm Central for Tuesday

Here's an idea I've been kicking around for a while. We've had the Snowfall Reports forum for a few years now and that's worked fine and will continue to do so. My idea is to have a thread that covers everything associated with a Winter Storm. Not just accumulations but conditions as well, traffic, closings, photos, club news regarding trails, you name it. Anyone posting would be asked to include their location to better tell the story of the storm.
Storm Central, let's see what the response is and go from there.

A rarity from where I sit, midway between Appleton & Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I have a big bullseye on my forehead. Things change but this one looks to be the Real McCoy for storms. Schools from Fond du lac to Green Bay are already closed on Tuesday and it's not suppose to peak until later in the day. Wednesday looks to be a challenge for traffic and transportation. Maybe more snow for next weekend!

Stretching from Lake Superior down to the Gulf, she's a big one!

I also wanted to mention a weather resource that looks promising, Midwest Weather over on Facebook

They feature a lot of the maps that John used and it seems to be comprehensive and you don't need a PhD to understand it.

Neat idea, I could chime in from my place just outside of Lake Linden, in the Keweenaw.
Currently not snowing and about 4” in my field

Anything to help

Snow Flurries since midnight, less than an inch overnight in the Fox Valley. Regardless of the snows, looks like some really cold temps for the upcoming weekend. Single temps for most of us. Traffic is a mess anywhere you go.

I'm looking out at wet road, driveway and a yard that is half grass half snow in Rock County, I knew it was going to be a flop when the news said it was going to be 33 degrees out. ground is just too warm. Hopefully changes soon.

What's going on in the FOX valley/Milwaukee area?....I haven't seen a snow fall total over 2.5 inches yet....(the nws snow fall map isn't working for me out of green bay or Sullivan)...storm looks like a massive bust so far...but I can't tell...heavy bands of precip near Milwaukee and Madison, but I can't tell what it is (Rain/snow/mix)....just over an inch here, and stopped snowing about 2 hours ago

Gary would this a thread a per day thing? Might want a new category, it could get busy... Or under the area and conditions category. Maybe a couple sticky post at the top for State DOT sites or other useful sites of that nature. I know MI and WI both have descent camera networks. (I away have to look them up each year) But sounds great to try out and see how it goes...

I'm in Northwest Indiana we received about 1-2" of heavy wet snow today. most of its already melted due to rain, at least on the roadways grass seems to be holding. We are supposed to change over to snow around the evening rush... We will see what tomorrow brings. I think our bigger round should be this weekend...

Depending how it tracks and for the other guys here in Indiana. There are trails over by South Bend and East. If you do ride don't forget you need to be registered in the state you live. Four Winds Casino is trailhead parking but this is in Michigan for the first 20 or so miles of the ride... Then you dip down to Indiana. You have about another 40 or 50 miles of trails. Easy 75 to 100 miles round trip. Kate O'Connor's Irish Pub is a great stop in New Carlisle, IN.

Follow the MICHIANA TRAIL-RIDER'S COALITION on Facebook to see when trails open. They update regularly when there is snow.
