Studs & Tunnel Protectors

I went with a 96 stud pattern (.92 Woodys Gold Digger). I didn't think it would be a problem after I looked at it closer, but it's nice to hear from the "experts" (including Indy ;).

Now I just have to figure out if I want to go with dual carbides or stick with the 6 inch.

that powerful of a sled will do just fine with some good 6 inch single carbides.

The problems that I've seen with studs are when they're on the outside. Time and time again; ..."and the track ripped on the outside, that's what damaged my coolers." If you know someone that can weld that thin aluminum you're alright, if not, you're out more cash.

In 2002 Polaris made those 'good to go' for studs. They don't do that anymore. 96 is a great choice in the middle. It gives you a little traction for safety and a little extra bite.

We just did my IQ Shift with 96 in the center with the stock .92 track and 1.070 gold diggers.

Now we just need some snow!!!!!!!

Don't stud the IQ. You won't need it.

Would 6 inch carbides be OK to run the river with?

I know a guy that had 4" carbides on his 02 500 and it turned so hard that he flew off! He may be a little uncoordinated though :)

6 should be fine but if you want some more bite, go with the 8. That's what I would use.
