I just picked up 2 new Honda foreman rubicons, always rode Polaris, but I didn't want belt transmissions. I think the Honda is far better, pioneer uses same trans set up I believe, low speed, hauling, trail riding been great so far.

Nice to hear, I will have to do a test drive at Ken's in Little Chute, WI.

Simply put, if you know the quality of the build of military vehicles & the a-typical build of your average side by side, this vehicle is well built, in my estimation, military grade, drive train to frame.-Mezz

OK, just as I figured, it is just something ppl say about their stuff to make it sound better than other ppls stuff.....LMAO...I'm impressed....LOL

Kind of like the way you JDers point out other ppls bad behavior so that you can say you are better than them....LOL.

Not trying to imply anything in any way shape or form, just a real world observation. I've had military vehicle experience as well as atv/sxs experience. I just call it as I see it from my experience.:cool3:-Mezz

Very good friend and a solid Cat sled rider, has always told me AC SXS's are junk. Sounds as you found the same ezra. He has Poo SXS's. I have been told the AC SXS's will be discontinued, and all will now be the Textron models going forward. I like what I'm hearing on the Textrons SXS, but my Polaris's have been very good to us. A good friend just bought a new Honda Pioneer. He, and his boys will give it a good shake down on what it really is, and what it will do. They are excavation contractors, and outdoor sportsman. They have had Poo, Deere, Kawi previously. Mostly Rangers though.

OK , real simple. Using the "military grade" line means absolutely nothing beyond PERSONAL OPINION. ...so please,... lets just leave it here to die.

When Textron first started working on the Stampede’s development, engineers knew they needed an engine. Rather than going out and sourcing and engine, they went out and bought the entire engine company – Weber. Weber was a highly regarded German engine company and now, as part of Textron, it is doing some pretty cool things. The Stampede is powered by an 80 hp 846cc twin that is everything you’d expect from a German-engineered motor.

weber
846cc Liquid-Cooled 4-Stroke, Twin Cylinder Single Overhead Cam

arctic cat HDX
695, SOHC, 4-Stroke, 4-Valve w/EFI Single Cylinder

always choose EFI....cat has real EFI....my 2c

if they are progressive they will now latch onto the Yamaha engine connection they are in bed with.

Now that Textron owns Weber, I would guess that in the future, they will engineer, and build their own engines exactly to their specific needs, from the ground up, designed with, and for the chassis involved. Sleds included. That explains Textron's wanting AC's engine production program. No more need to buy, and shoehorn engines. I see a bright future for AC if this takes place.

jeeperz, the irony in what you just posted is thicker than Oprah.

Polaris' only hi-perf 4 stroke was a lousy and troublesome "Weber" 750 turdo.
Currently (Textron)Cat and Yamacat sleds own the truest and most powerful turboed 4 stroke sled on the planet, yet you think Weber is Textrons future....that is strange, to say the least.
the offroad industry seems to have more partners than Stormy McDanials.

why? they now own cats pretty new motor manufacturing plant and webber . they are deep stacked with engineers all over the globe . Yamaha they do not need them at all back I don't think Yamaha is even building the turbo sled motor just a licence holder for it

I have 2 Wildcat Trails, a 2014 with over 3000 miles and a 2016 with about 1500. No issues what so ever. Would buy another in a heart beat. Most trans issues I've heard of is the parking pawl breaking due to owners trailering them in park.
Textron is using the Yamaha tripple na in the Wildcat XX. With turbo to come later. They are using the Weber motor that has been reworked for more HP in the Havoc X.
Wildcat Trails, sports, X and XX are all sport side x side's. The Havoc X is a crossover like the Polaris General.

good info. Is the wildcat XX the same chassis as the Yam YXZ?

No, it is an all new chassis that Arctic Cat and Robby Gordon designed before Textron took over. It was a couple years in the making, but Textron held the release due to some issues with out sourced parts. It just hit the dealers about a month ago.

the yammi turbo is a turd if you really want to go fast.
the old zuk is a better built motor for making fast.
and guess who designed it it was not zuk .cat still has engineers who know what they are doing .they nor textron need a motor supplier they own motor plants all around the globe . only reason they are using the yammi now is it was a quick ez reasonable deal with yammi not wanting to build sleds any longer but not wanting to totaly screw there dealers.

Agree, X2 ezra!!! AC was the only, and is the only way for Yami to stay in the sled business. Without AC, their cooked. It's pretty much a known fact Yami does not have the "want" to be totally in sled production business. Bad deal for the Yamaha faithful, for sure. Imo, the AC/TCat is set up better than the Yami S/W out of the box. Even the Apex was a "shoehorn" sled/engine combination, with a "built in weight penalty", as a RPM gear reduction was needed. So as, power steering also needed. I'm no Textron fan, as I remember when they owned Poo. Bad deal for sure. But it appears to me they are going in the right direction of a very strong power sport/vehicle producer. That's a good deal for the consumer involved.
