Targeting Oncoming Traffic

It was a brushback pitch for sure. Hit a couple of home runs and the bean ball is coming at your head. Unfortunately I didn’t hit the homeruns and Ken riding #2 almost paid the ultimate price. It was totally unnecessary and those of you that think 107 is a wide FR don’t know the trail all. Very narrow and twisty in Kenton woods then gradually widens out as you go farther south. In baseball you throw the beaner and pitcher gets thrown out of the game and/or a brawl breaks out. Why because it’s dangerous and unsportsmanlike. Same when targeting riders dangerous and unnecessary ride your own sled don’t try and mitigate how others ride none of your business no good can come of it.

mostly black ski doo? I had similar situation this weekend on 107, I was northbound.

I couldn’t tell what sled it was since I was scrambling up the berm #2 said it was a 2up and he came a lot closer to contact than I did. Again those that keep saying 107 is all wide FR don’t know the trail just south of Kenton woods. Very twisty and tight thru there.

Nobody is saying is saying the entire trail is a fire road but as snowbuilder said, 99% of the trail is wide. And you did say it happened after the woods....

Bottom line, I highly doubt they intentionally tried to run you off the trail. Unless however they felt you were riding down the middle.

Put on 1650 miles in the last 10 days in MN, and only had one close call. A woman who just stayed right down the middle and actually turned towards me as we came at each other. Couldn't figure out why, but oh well. We were probably doing 25-30ish at the time. I was paying attention, turned up the burm on my side, clicked skis, and I never looked back. This was on day two of my adventure.

Just amazes me you keep telling me 107 is a FR and I keep saying just south of the woods where it widens gradually and you keep saying it’s a FR there which is false. 107 doesn’t go FR instant twisty it gradually narrows down near Kenton woods it’s not all wide FR. I would guesss snowbuider knows this too why he admitting to 1% variable. The targeting was intentional and why I’m bringing it up so whoever thinks this is a good idea will stop. I would like to see how well you actually know 107 I know it super well. How many miles is it from Trail 2 to the end of 107? I know the exact mileage do you?

Agree 100% that this is not being done intentionally. Perhaps an overreaction and embellishment from an experienced rider who rides a ton!!

However safety and encountering oncoming traffic is an issue, in that people are riding way tooo fast when encountering oncoming traffic, especially on straights and grades, me included. Corners are also bad, and I agree that is more experience, , equipment, etc.......based.

5 more killed in Wisconsin alone last weekend, so really hits hard and makes you realize you need to be on the defensive and focused at all times.

OK Whitedust....call trail 107 whatever you want. You clearly ran into some 2-up riders who are pretty aggressive and mean. Glad you were able to maneuver up a berm, around trees, avoid the rest of the group and land safely back on the trail. Sounds like you need to slow down and just ride on your side of the trail to avoid targeting in the future.

I agree completely. I think some experienced and those that lack experience feel they are running into out of control riders just because they are going fast. Or in some cased caught them off guard.

I’m a safe rider never been in an accidennt. I was hugging right already but I do ride faster than most especially on a trail that I know like the back of my hand. Imo oncoming riders should have hands on bars don’t wave at me to slow down , give me hand signals if you choose but not necessary I can see ahead of me and I’ll be tight right in Twistys. By the way it’s exactly 25 miles from trail 2 where you exit 107 at the road not M28 the road where the trail ends.

28.2 but l'm spinning a 100 yards out of every corner.

Is that with the Poo, or the APE x? Probably both!

Hasn't the very north end of 107, right before the trail 2 jct. changed trail routes several times over the years? We don't ride it as we did in the past however. Perhaps this is the confusion? We used to stay a Two Rivers cabins just west of Kenton years back.

If someone almost takes me out from riding left, I'm pulling a U turn and will provide educational help. No excuse for that BS

2 upper to me says inexperienced. ...maybe a rental.

2 Up does not mean inexperienced at all. I'm 54 and been riding since 1973, yes 45 years. One of the sleds (out of 4) in my stable is a 2017 Grand Touring LE. I have a disabled son who likes to ride and he cant ride his own so I need a 2 Up for when he wants to go for a ride.

Not always but in certain areas it is usually a rental. Those are the ones I m referring to and only in an effort to maybe explain what actually happened. I have had it happen to me and I just write it off as a learning experience for them. Not saying WD wasn't intentionally pushed over, he has a lot of riding time in and he knows what he knows.
