Feel free to chime in but I'm going with 3 out of 5 for sides with my Turkey. I just can't get my head around Mac & Cheese for this feast and I've never been a fan of the Sweet Potatoes. Not that I'm a picky eater, but I also just found out what's in Giblet Gravy. Thank you, No! I'll pass on the Innerds everytime.

So, the wife has the good china out, the bird is poised for the oven and I'm in charge of the alcohol, snacks and football on the Big Screen. Packers and Lions should be a good one! It's a Happy and Thankful day at our house and we hope you can say the same! Safe travels to all this holiday season!

I'll go with the stuffing, green bean casserole and our family does pierogis as a side from the polish ancestors. Hard pass on sweet potatoes. My mom used to force me to eat that as a kid along with beets. Most of it wound up in my hoody pocket and pitched outside as soon as I could. Only problem was coming up with excuse for stained hoody.

Gary, I'm a fan of all 5 but like you, I've never seen mac & cheese on the Thanksgiving table. Since it's usually just the two of us for dinner now, we've pared back the menu to the basics - Turkey, stuffing, gravy, and this year, green bean casserole. Still qualifies as a feast.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeah, I'm gonna pass on the beats and turnips. Howabout Lefse? Anyone?

Lefse is a traditional Norwegian flatbread made from potatoes, flour, and other ingredients, cooked until it resembles a thin, soft tortilla. It is a versatile dish that can be served with sweet toppings like butter, sugar, and cinnamon, or with savory ones like butter and sausage. Due to its cultural significance in Norwegian communities, it is often made as a holiday food.

My grandparents introduced me to Lefse and I still search it out this time of year at the supermarket.

Oh yes, Lefse is an annual thing for Christmas. We have all the equipment to make it, so fresh, hot Lefse is a treat to look forward to. Add butter, sugar, roll it, and enjoy.

Can I come over? One of my favs.

As to the choices, I'll take the mashed and sweet potatoes, and the green bean casserole. Not a fan of dressing, especially if it is high in sage, and I like mac and cheese but just not for Thanksgiving.

We usually have lefse throughout the year. I'm not waiting til the holidays for that. I have had it several times this fall at Lutefisk feeds. Ever since I started cooking turkey on the pellet grill, nobody cares about the sides. It comes out perfect and will make anybody look like a pro chef! And I think it's easier than the oven.

No one in my family is a “super-cook” so maybe I haven’t had one that’s been prepared well, but I have to say turkey is one of the lamest meats.

For sides I love me some Mac and cheese. Quality stuffing and quality mashed potatoes are great, if not done up well they can be pretty lame. Don’t have it very often at all but love me some green bean casserole too.

Yeah well I like em all! However I'm all in on Scalloped oysters! Big time good stuff, along with a 7 Layer salad, german style hot potato salad. ;)

Totally agree with Indy, turkey really does nothing for me, but my wife sure lays out a great Thanksgiving meal every year!

While I did reply earlier on favs, for the last 4 years we have a huge shrimp boil. No mess, no prep, no pots and pans, and few dishes. When the boil is done, we just dump it on 2 large cookie sheets on the table [everyone for themselves]. Easy and fast clean up and then we have more time to visit, play cards, etc.
