From this afternoon. About as frozen as I have ever seen it. Only the deep navy blue is open water.

Funny thing is I am kind of happy about it. (trying to see the positive side)
I could use a break form plowing. Going to shovel the roof now too.
Sure we will till see plenty of system snow. Spring has been interesting the last few years with running out of places to push the snow plowing.

Yep and what vmax1994 said is right. Much of the ice is not "fast ice", meaning it is frozen solid to the shore. So it will drift around, depending on the wind direction. Just two days ago, that strip of open water along the north shore was about 3 times wider, but froze up with the latest round of arctic air.
