Well, yanked the mountain sled yesterday up to the UP and boy am I glad it did! They got an unspoken of foot in the last 5 days, and while riding yesterday it was bombing snow ALL DAY! My guesstimate is 4-6” just yesterday while we were riding, and who knows it could’ve snowed all night for all I know and ended up with twice that! No shortage of snow that’s for sure. More snow doesn’t mean smoother trails though, as trail 3 felt like a mogul section on a snocross track. The bad, on the drive home as we got just south of Eagle River, it rained/freezing rained ALL the way home. By the time we got to Wittenberg, you could tell there was substantial snow loss as we could see some bare grass and bare plowed field areas. Yes, the rain did turn to snow overnight, we ended up with about an inch on the west side of Appleton. But, it will take a lot more than a fluffy inch to recover what was lost. My advice to anyone who plans to ride south of highway 8, do some research and DONT expect it to be the same as what you just rode 2 days ago… On the bright side, we do have some shots of snow this week! Think Snow!
