My 800 R '09 Summit broke down on 1/22/11. David brought it in to Houghton Motor Sports on 1/24/11. They told him my 4 year warrenty did not get registered!! David proceeded to call Marty P. whom used to run Keweenaw Motor Sports, he jumped in and took care of things and we have warrenty. Thank you very much Marty your the man! It ended up I needed a new short block, head, piston, everything! Only a $50 deductable and everything was covered. Tim from H.M.S. called me 3 times with updates, and I picked it up on Saturday 1/29/11. Very good service, very professional. Want to thank you Tod and everyone at H.M.S. I guess I can continue to ride Skidoo!! Lori

Lori…nice, yeah I was a little angry at an answer I got and reacted a little hastily on the earlier JD post, literally I tried to go in and "fix" the post but it had already been quoted and thus it would not allow me access to change. Guess it’s that German temper that every once in a while raises its head…needless to say Todd is a little upset with me (understatement) (he still doesn't know what flipped me out, it would have flipped anybody out) but if he wouldn’t have had that Wednesday off (why can’t he work seven days a week, I don't know) I would have never got angry in the first place because he would have never allowed it to happen.

To acknowledge my error, Tim (newest service manager) did step in once he was brought into the loop on my problem and immediately “did the right thing”. He solved the issue that had me "flipping out" and as I have already told him, I owe him a big THANK YOU.

My sled also is running great 1067 miles so far about 160 on trail the remaining 907 out in the bush… keep the snow coming.

Always a "jokester" in the group...lol

Kris wouldn't expect anything less from me. All in good fun. Sorry for jacking the thread. It is good to know there are two good dealers in Houghton/Hancock. I might be up there this week to get my friend's Ski-Doo rekeyed because I might have lost the lanyard thing.

The warranty problem had nothing to do with the new owners, but once the initial problem with the warranty had been fixed, the new owners did a great job at getting a sled in, diagnosing what was wrong with it, ordering up all the parts needed and turning it around to the customer in less than a week. Not too shabby for a machine that needed an entire new engine. The new owners also put in a new water pump and oil pump to be safe.

Happy MP

I don't work up north, I work down south at MPS and know that all we want up there is things being handled correctly and people happy. Period. There are always going to be hiccups but let us know so we can help. Our riding season is shot enough, even up north! :)
MP, we would still want you to come hang with us down south here during the week, but I don't know that we get enough snow here for you! Plenty of rum though! ;-)

A few answers about my sled, miles were about 3000 miles, only driven by a little old lady from Pasadena ( e.i. wife's sled),there seemed to be a plugged main jet, which is what took every thing out. Doospunk and crew, if you guys ride Thurs. and have room shoot Dave a line,he'd like to hook up with you. Don't worry I woon't be a tag along, I have to teach art class. Looking forward to hitting snow soon!

Great service

Lori, great post. People don't comment on the positives enough once they receive good service!
I picked up my new 600 etec summit on Friday last week from HMS and was riding with Lori and Dave Sat. when the call came in to get it. The service dept. at HMS was talking about the motor coming in when I was there Friday morning. To get the machine together and up and running in that time frame, is pretty amazing service considering the peak time of year.
Tyler was a very helpful sales rep and I received a follow-up call 5 minutes after I got home from HMS to see how I was enjoying my purchase. Pretty good service for me!
I will definately be getting the 4 year warranty as well, ya never know what'll break.

Funny story- Riding with Dave, Lori, Junior1, his crew and our group on Saturday. Dave turns to me before we jumped into the bush and simply says, "polish will take those scratches right out."

My reply riding a sled with 150 miles on it was, "What scratches?"

Dave's response with a simple sh.. grin was, "The ones your gonna get in there!"

PS- Tell Dave those scratches haven't been buffed yet. (beauty marks!)

Have Fun at the Ride-In!! Wish we were there.
