The other snowmobile season

The off season is in full swing so I decided to get into the "repair season." Brought my old 600 into the shop for its new top end. Still ran fine but there was about 15 PSI difference between the cylinders, one side was at 125 and had been rebuilt about 4000 miles ago, the other side was at 110 and was original still at 7000 miles. Teaching my reluctant son how to do this (he says he can learn it on You Tube) as this sled will be ridden by him and his sister. Should have the parts by the end of the week and get it back together over the weekend. Figured we needed to see/talk about snowmobiles on the site even if it is summer!

Last weekend I got the front suspension taken off the RMK. Brought it in to get powder coated. Spindles, upper and lower control arms, tie rods, and rear bumper. All going to be Orange. Will post pics when I get them back.
Had brought sled home several weeks ago to do it, got around to it on account of the guy I use is in Hudson Wi. And I was working in River Falls Wi. so I was literally driving past his house. Saving me a trip to drop them off.

Kinda funny to see this thread posted today. This was taken in the front yard this afternoon - 85 degrees. My version of a little summer parade I guess. Can't figure out why the neighbors seem really nervous when I'm around. This seems perfectly normal to me.

and yes, the Deere was the best running sled of the bunch today.

I can't afford those types of lessons. Basically I told him he helps and learns or he rides Skiroules' old 500XC all yr while my daughter rides the RMK.

good job dad, the best way to learn is by looking over dads shoulder. USALLY that is.........last spring my trailer receiver was stuck in my hitch, I sprayed some lube in there as best as I could, gave it a couple whacks with the mallet and again a few times. Let it sit a few days then did the same thing, my then 3 yr old was out in the garage with me, I hear a thump thump, I look around the back end of my truck and there he is smacking the passenger door with his hammer. Got the receiver out, no damage to the door, I called it a successful project.

Its back running again. Didn't get as much help as I hoped for but probably more than I expected.

Not a wannabe. I'm a don't want to leave em behind. Cuz they can't follow on their YamaPigs.
Wasn't me that didn't want to follow you through the thickets last March, I was about to helmet up and try chasing you down, after getting Tom dug out. But you showed up just before Austin and I saddled up and headed into the brush.
And also, I think we rode only in Wi where there is pretty much No Legal off trail. With your pic for profile being, "stay on trail or stay home" Not really looking to offend people while riding with them.
