The real Jay Cutler

I love all of the doctors here who think they could play competitive Pro football with a torn MCL. Oh, wait, he really was faking it. I guess the MRI machine was wrong and all of you are right. Odds are 99.99999% of you would have been crying standing there, much less ready to take more snaps.

Actually torn MCL's usually exhibit very little pain, you just don't have the full rnage of motion in the leg or the ability to put weight on the leg. Cutler is the Bears franchise quarterback, a trip to the Super Bowl isn't worth ending a career over - is it?

I think it just shows how lucky us Packer fans really are, we have truly had an amazing streak of quarterbacks over the last 18 years...

For Bears fans sake, I hope he uses the time off to adjust his attitude... What a pouty guy on the sidelines - they should have put him in the locker room where his cloud couldn't affect the rest of the team.

Cutler does not have a TORN mcl..according to espn....its
a sprained mcl...so basically a Sprained knee...so yeah, he wussed
out on his team...the bears will never be champions with him
at Qb..he doesnt have the heart of a champion...urlacher
can spout off about how tough cutler is all he wants, but
hes wrong...cutler is no winner.

Do you honestly think Urlacher and Kruetz are going to throw Cutler under the bus? What are they going to say"Jay's a pussy"? Of course they are going to have his back. He is their quarterback (for now).

I am glad Dr. Attak cleared that up for us. But I would sugest that none of you go to Dr. Attak for any real medical attention. In his vast medical knowlege he must have forgotten that a tear is a SPRAIN of the ligament. But I am sure that he already knew that, him being a doctor and all. And even a first (minor stretching and a less than 10% tear of the ligament) or second degree sprain can lead to severe dammage if not immobilized immediately. Even a 3rd degree sprain which is a total tear of the ligament, in most cases, will not be painfull enough to prevent someone from standing on the sideline or riding a stationary bike. Sometimes the only way to truely tell the severity of the injury on site, is to take a measurement of laxity of the joint. At which point the team doctors would not allow him to re enter the game. If he where to re enter he would have severly injured his meniscus the first time he would put latteral pressure on the joint. But quarterbacks rarely do that, right?

Never claimed to a doctor catman...just repeated what espn said
Call
me what u like...i call em like I see em...cutler is
a gutlesss, spineless wimp...and ur bears lost...
get over it hoss...lol

I've had a torn MCL and some of you are correct. I didn't experience any pain while standing or walking or riding a stationary bike. The major pain came from trying to plant the foot of the injured leg and then it was like 10,000 knives stabbing in and down I went. The docs on the sidelines would not have let him back in the game because it could end up being a career ending injury. I didn't think Cutler or the Bears had what it would take to beat the Packers BEFORE the game started and Cutler getting hurt wasn't the problem. I will be the first to say that I don't really care for Rodgers but I'm gonna root for my team. The Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl because that is what real fans do. They root for their TEAM and not just one guy on the team. So for all of you Bears fans out there that want to pin this pathetic lose on Cutler, keep telling yourself that he lost the game for you's. It just might help you sleep at night. Oh, and this is the really funny part. According to Bears fans Cutler lost the game for the Bears because of an injury but none of them have said "Good job Pack" "Good luck in Big D on the 6th" Show just how classless most Bears fans really are. IMHO

Payback is a bee-yatch

How does it feel now Bear fans? To have a QB that can't play through pain and is apparently a loser exposed. Nice long term contract to deal with there and all that bonus money shelled out. Nice job Bears GM - couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of abusive fans.

Read em and weep baby - PACKERS to the Super Bowl. Bears hibernate for the winter and figure out what to do with a malcontent QB.

Sure was a bummer for us Bears fans. Now go Packers! We are used to it as fans of Chicago teams. Still a good season for the Bears, much better than most expected.

I have to laugh at some of the blinding ignorance of some people thinking that a quarterback, any quarterback, can play through a torn MCL. So Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, Daunte Culpepper, Jeff Garcia, Trent Green, and Vince Young are all sissies because they let a torn up knee keep them from playing????? This guy got sacked more than any quarterback in the NFL this year and kept geting up, and you want to question his toughness when most of you have to sit in a hot tub for an hour after a day on the trail. No matter what is on the line or how tough somebody thinks they are, if your body is phisically unable to perform the tasks at hand (no latteral stability due to a 60% MCL tear)no ammount of "want to" is going to magically heal it.

I am not going to get into the Bear/Packer debate as this is not what this thread is about. I have good friends who are Packer fans and I am happy for them (not their team obviously). Taunt me all you want. When I need to feel better I just look to my left at the 2010 stanley cup banner haning on the wall and feel MUCH better!

I think bear fans should blame the field and the NFL !! Bears left the field bad on pupose to slow down the game .Well it slowed down their season instead. Both sides complained before the game, both sides played on it ! watched replay and Cutler took alot of 2-man hits and it looks like his long cleats kept his feet planted while the pack twisted him in knots.RODGERS took some good shots to the head and his new hi-tech helmet kept him in the game. Was a good close game.Bear fans should be proud !!

we'll your not all wrong there but if you do not have a QB than can execute running and passing plays then the team is at a disadvantage

also, you say

"The Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl because that is what real fans do"

what? that makes no sense. I think I know what you are trying to say and if I am correct than you just may prove my theory. I have witnessed so many packer fans with a rude, nasty attitude and many insults. If that is what packer fans are about than they can bite my A**

The packer are a great team, better than the bears IMO. I see the D as a good match up, maybe slightly disadvantaged on the bears side.

Few pts 1) absolutely not Cutlers fault Bears lost (first drive by Pack was killer), 2) about giving credit....did you hear Donald Driver state nobody can beat them and that they only lost this yr when they played bad? Perhaps you should tell Donald your thought on saying "Good job" when beaten, 3) This Cutler bashing is sickening. I was pissed at first also but when the barely pops wore off and info was shared on his injury I actually felt like an idiot, 4) there are jerk Bear fans and jerk Pack fans. IMHO
