Ebon Ice caves, many waterfalls are accessible through out the area, by foot, may need snow shoes, may not, depends on snowfall & traffic in. Some ski hills have tubing runs on certain day's of the week. Ice Skating in so many area's around here. A little imagination goes a long way.-Mezz

No ice castle too warm and outlook is continued warm and dry weather. Not sure there will be an ice castle this year? Really nice one last year and was mobbed during the day for pictures. FD doesn’t fool around if in 40s they demolish quickly!

Bond Falls is accessible and usually a great place to go in the winter, via sled or vehicle. It's a bit of a walk to the lower parking lot if not going by sled. Snowshoeing and Fat Biking can be done in numerous areas. Both can be rented as well if you don't have them, and reasonably inexpensive.

Change your U.P. visit date to weekend of Feb 9th and see the MTU winter carnival. The snow statues are great. When I was a kid we would walk over a mile and see every single one. And in college at MTU we built several one nighters.

Was just at Bond Falls last week and sadly snow shoes are not needed. Did a bunch of seasonal roads in a bone stock 4x4. Snow levels are crazy low in the woods. There is a free sled hill with a tow rope across M28 from the Steak House in Covington. Great food there as well. Not sure the age of your kids? There is a Children’s museum in Marquette that is great. Depending on your kids ages, you could spend a half a day there. Lots of places to Ice skate as well.

The weekend is almost here. Thanks for the great ideas. Might be a cold weekend. What are everyone's favorite places to stop for a good meal.
