This dont look like an Indy or a 500

Congrats on the up grade Indy! Nice looking ride. My .02 on the track, go with a 144 to 146". Considering your riding a lot of trail miles, the 1.5 Rip would be fine, but, like Ez sez, useless off the trail. If your considering doing more off than on, 144 x 2 is the way to go. No matter what, have fun with it!-Mezz

Other dilemma is my storage is 10 ft. clamshell and there's no way around it. Sure 144 aint much longer but every bit helps. I'll see what happens this summer, so far the lathe and mill department are fighting over me to see which one I go to once schools out at work, so working full time I should be able to whip up a pretty nice sled this offseason. I do a lot of trail riding with my dad and I still enjoy trail riding with buds, I like to play around offtrail a lot also. If I did all my trail riding in the UP id go with a 1.75 or 2 but I do quite a bit of riding around home and the trails arent so great usually. I ran a 2" paddle track for the first 1000 miles this year, it was just too much and I didn't want to continue to ruin it so I figured I'd sell it while it was still decent and let someone else have fun with it.

And thanks for the compliments guys, the skis are USI Triple Threats, wouldn't be my first choice due to looks but they really corner and handle great.

maybe not so much

urs was a fluke LOL she really ripped pulled the skis off the ground for quite a ways. Plans so far are to advance timing a degree or 2, gut air box, 410 mains .9 paj, 22/40 gearing (going to steal it out of my 500), Go thru clutches, wish someone made a 150/350 spring which is what would be PERFECT for what I want, new stock secondary spring, SLP push arm, increase oil consumption (leaner than i'd like), 08-newer spindles, .405 torsion springs, and if funds allow it will get extended (preferably 136x1.5). Would also like to find a lightweight freestyle (09-newer) polaris seat. Would be willing to trade my pro x shorty seat for one. It only saw over 8k rpms this morning when it was cold, it ran really good today, otherwise all day yesterday it was 7750 and after holding wide open for awhile went down to 7600. Plugs are jet black and she's a pig so I may even have to consider 400s. Steers hard, which is why I'd like to find newer spindles. Other than that I love the riding position. It bottomed out too easy, my dad took a break by a powerline so I headed up it for awhile. After landing jumps it was just too soft. 3 ft of pow in Lando, no hard stuff. i was impressed. BTW rp7x after riding with you guys I can't believe I wasted my time trying to offtrail on a sitdown trailing arm sled. WOW it is so much easier to manuever this thing, it goes with you instead of against you.

Nice sled Indy, congrats. My vote is for the 144 X 1.5 with the tipped up rails. My 07 Switchback fit in my 10 foot clamshell fine. I just ran it a bit forward with the clamps up to the spindles and the cover just cleared the rear bumper. Or you could pick up a few more shifts at the Fleet Boutique and go out and buy an inline........

I no longer work there, Thank the lord!!! LOL I should be working full time this summer at the machine shop I've been working at since September before school. I need that to pay for some goodies on the sled and possibly a new truck. Finally been a month since I've had any truck problems and what do ya flipping know!!! After going through my new sled Friday night before loading it on trailer, me and a few buds hit up the Mac Shack, on the way home CRACK. Nothing hit my windshield, it just decided to crack all the way down the middle and across the bottom on the driver side.

Agree with you on gutting the box. I did the slp air horn kit this winter on my Fusion, and I can't see how that provides any advantages vs. just gutting it. Seems like a waste of $50 plus it's a pain to cut up the box and install the new seal and air horn. That combined with the 410's woke it up.

I just bought some 2009 spindles after riding my bud's 07 IQ - his IQ steered real easy compared to my Fusion...I wonder if those skis you have make it harder to steer compared to stock?

Most likely. They have a fin on the back to grip even more on hardpack. The keel's pretty deep, and they have stud boy shaper bars on them so they bite pretty good. Just hard to turn.

Did you get the stock skis with it also? I'd be interested on the stock one if the price is right.

Hey Indy, congrats on the upgrade. Just a opinion but your spot on with the 136" length but if you want to ride WI and MI think 1.25 and some studs, the 1.5 just doesnt gain enough with what you give up. I've ridden alot of iron and this is still the best set-up if you want a swiss army knife of snowmobiles. The 144+ with 2+ tracks really arent needed in the UP anyways, unless you can leave the day of the heavy LES warnings. I've been riding the Twin Lakes area all my life and having went back to 121 I still have as much if not more fun on it. Makes you learn to be a driver.

I'm not sure what everyones big gripe is about the airbox. I took 1 screw out of the console to lift it up out of the way and it popped right in with ease. Carb boots are secure. Just rejetted to 410 and turned the fuel screws from 1 to 1.25 and attempted to richen up the oil pump but I don't think it did anything.
