Tomahawk trails got hammered over the weekend with heavy traffic over the weekend...the clubs are out and grooming, and with the extreme cold, the trails are setting up nicely where they have been groomed..flat fast and smooth.
Trails were a little snirty from the railroad grade around lake nokomis...but gets better as you head north and west (away from the high traffic areas)...there are some problem spots on Lake Nokomis...behind the Titled Loon, the lake opened up, it has since refroze..but that area is not safe...it's recommend you not go near the back ramp at the loon (steer clear of that area)....AND...we have some knuckleheaded ice fisherman who plowed a path across the trail...it created a 3 foot berm that you can't see ..its right on the trail as u head south towards the old best western...some local sledders were heading out today to try to correct the issue...but becareful out there...they are also lowering the water on nokomis and a few heaves have formed. (mainly near the shoreline).

Right now trails are FAIR to GOOD...we could always use more snow....but trails are holding up decently with the extreme cold.

Closed by land owners...tried to come up with a re route..but it didn't happen in time

That sucks. Trespassing issue or was there something else? So is there no access to that BP? If I recall, not a lot of fuel options in that neck of the woods. Would need to head to willow lake or somo lake areas?

No..not a trespassing issue..owner of bar retired, and closed the bar..doesn't want trail through her land since it's a private residence now

Lady makes a living off snowmobilers for how many years, then retires and flips us the bird. Such a nice person.

Sheesh, give it a break? Perhaps there is a lot more to it, than what has been presented, eh? "Private property", is just that! A business is quite different than a residence! Many riders now days have seemed to show the lack of being able to stay on the trail. Trails are being restricted, and completely closed due to riders poor conduct, and being irresponsible as to others property rights. I don't like it anymore than than anyone else! But it's real, and happening, everywhere we ride. We snowmobilers are a group that is easily targeted, and disliked for whatever the reason be. Hopefully, Attak man will return with better news! Sad, but so it is. PRR, Please Ride Responsible.

We have a place booked in tomahawk and Mercer. Need to make a decision on which place to go. Tomahawk is closer to us so we’d rather go there. Trails gonna be good this upcoming weekend, or should we head to Mercer instead

Trail to BP now runs up East Circle road up to Hwy 8. Then have to run along 8 to the BP. Trail 5 to Willow runs north of BP now(Town Hall to Ruth Rd.) and connects up with the trail that runs along 8 that runs east. Rode thru there Thurs and Saturday, to the Willow Thursday trail 5 was not bad little rough but decent. Rode up 19 to Round and Pike Sat and was beautiful. The re route of 19 south of Musky Jacks was incredible!!
