Paraphrased from Da Yoopers: "I carry a Swedish compass. It's an empty snuff box with a mirror inside. It don't show ya where you're going or where ya been. It just shows you who's lost!"

Yes, Bob, a simple compass is a must. Never know when that GPS is going to run out of juice.

I carry an extra key to my sled. I had a buddy lose his key one time after spending some time on a bar stool. It did not make the evening end very well. I wonder if he ever made it home?

Mini screwdriver. Works instead of key (at least on older sleds, haven't had to try it on newer stuff). Just in case you loose your key at the bar like the post a couple above.

Nice!!! I'm sure that the dug out thing is the shovel so you can get dug out & the food is to renourish yourself after that exhilarating exercise:confused:-Mezz

Nobody said a compact folding saw? I used my Snobunjie saw twice to fix sleds on trail. First time was my father who smoked a stump and snapped a trailing arm on his Edge. Found a nice hardwood and cut 2 short branches and duct taped it like a splint. Rode it home 70mi.

ChapStick, antacids, compass (around my neck), Tissues (muliple uses), liquid lens cleaner, extra head thingy, gloves, jumper cables (used few times on buddies' sleds that lost voltage regulators or stator, better than towing), light, nut/bolt assortment (for buddies' sleds), Belts, siphon ( sled uses more gas towing buddies' sled) earplugs, rope, ducktape (used a few too many times, ditto for the rope) tow strap, REAL octane boost for the modded sled.
Use to carry spare spark plugs for the Cat 4s, till I realized 4 hour job.

I've given up on keeping track.....between the tunnel bag, backpack and seat storage, I could probably build another sled on the trail!
That use to be me! bogies, chain (case), bearings; compression fittings for brake lines, clutch springs;gear oil, antifreeze; to name a few

Ya sure that's it? What about that vintage Hustler magazine you always talk about? lol :D

On a serious note, mine includes:

zip ties
knife
retractable saw
gloves
goggles
Corn Nuts (for any other lost dogs like Boonie we find in the woods)
lighter
fire gel
tow rope
compass
water
small flashlight
small first aid kit

I have often thought about doing the same. I'm game if you want to give it a shot sometime this year.

I will offer up the woods in my front yard and then that way if/when you two feel like enough is enough, you can slip into the shop (heated to 52) and watch sled videos on the flat screen the rest of the night. You just have to promise to restock the shop fridge! :)
