A tough one today for the wife and I. We had to put down our little buddy Higgins today. He was with us for over 14 years, a 7lb bundle of energy Yorkie. I could not sit and read the paper or watch TV without him laying on my lap or by my side. At the campground he was allways with me riding the golf cart and everyone new him and loved him. A true friend he was.........rest in peace Higgie baby....

Why do we pick pets that live such a short life? I mean turtles live longer don't they?

My dog is coming to an end too....just days and not weeks to go....and I am hurting just knowing that right now.

Putting down a pet is so hard, been there several times myself. But, we as humans gotta remember that it is a selfish act keeping a pet around when they're hurting. The pets have no control, so we as their owners need to make the right decisions for them. Most often the right decision is the hard one. Just hold the memories close and do what's best, it's all we can do.

Sorry to hear of another one of our beloved friends headed to The Bridge.
He is no longer in pain, and the memories you have of him will last a lifetime.

So sorry. These little guys are precious and give a lot more than they take. I'm sure Higgie will be missed.

Really sorry to hear about little Higgie. No doubt he will always have a special place in your heart.

I like what Ezra said. "when the time is right Higgins will send the perfect companion your way". I believe that to be true.

I as well as many on this site whom hold their little family members so close to our hearts feel your pain. Not an easy thing to do, but, definetly the right thing. The memories will last forever, that is the true gift that comes from having them in our lives. Time does heal & though they may be gone, they will never be forgotten. That in itself is priceless.-Mezz

Switch,

sorry to hear of higgins, I have never been a fan of pets, however my wife and kids talked me into a yorkie this fall.
We have only had Tucker for about 8 months and all I can say is WOW what a difference this little guy has made. I
love him like a second son, they always are so much fun and joy to be with, and as you know the yorkies are so fun to watch. Tucker is only 4lbs but has the heart and balls of a 300lb dog.
