track extensions

was thinking of taking my 121 to a 136. what do u guys think of the extension packages that tracks usa has to offer. anyone used them? not sure if i want to go with a ripsaw track or something else. still do alot of trail riding but want to be able to hop off into the deep boondocking and not have to worry about getting stuck.

I would go with tracks usa never heard anything bad about them.My brother has them on his sled 121-144 works great had them on for years.

Their stuff is top notch and I would go with the 1.5 inch ripsaw for some off trail but still a trail track

No real easy took me about 2 hours start to finish on a 2005 rev 600 , pieces are machined really nice and fit good and tight . I didnt use the tunnel extention . I tied back my mudflap with a strap

tracks USA has nice rail kits prob the best .but dont think for a second that a 136 1.5 is any thing more than a glorified trail track.
came to the conclusion about 5 yrs ago crossovers are great trail sleds with some light duty logging road and ditch running.
U got to own a mountain sled and a trail sled to get u by till u get to the fun ridding again.
I dont ask any one with out a min 141 2.5 to come with any more not worth the back pain

I can go everywhere the 141-162 I ride with my 136 2in Just got your head sometimes.

I extended my 06 RS Nytro to 136 with a 1.6" Cat track......good combo for central U.P. light boondocking.....no noticeable slider wear on the trails but really good off trail grunt.

then we should go hill climbing some day.
I know a few born and raised boys who ride in work gear with duck tape gatters and patches who can ride old 121 junk any place they want. they are few and far between.
I am not saying u cant do some off trail on a 136 1.5 but u will be digging and 98% wont be doing any kind of tight tree hill climbs .and 50%will be digging at every logging road dead end.
I think that is a good thing.
BTW I have been trailering to your parts to ride

Thanks for letting me know about my mail box it's empty now .I probably should of put that a different way but I can hold my own against longer sleds if your calling me out on alittle challange;). You are correct in the trees It gets alittle tough and I'm not saying I dont get stuck because I do. As for hooking up for a little ride I'm all game on that. We go every weekend

not calling u out I see where u live and know u have prob been ridding the shade side of the local hill your whole life.
but what do u think a a trail rider from IL chances are off trail with a 136 1.5 ripsaw. deff not the same as a local boy who has prob been playing around Mt arvon his whole life.
any new snow in your parts in last 2 weeks? was out playing in your back yard then it was great and thinking poss again this weekend if any fresh. or we are thinking quick trip west in mid mar if no big systems move through the up

I have a set of tracks usa 136 extensions on a sled of mine and I've used and abused it and had no problems with the extensions or the rails. Good stuff.

For you guys who did the extension, did you see any downsides to doing so? Difficulty in getting the suspension set up, more pushing in the turns, etc.?

I just did one on my 08' Doo. I went from 120" to 137". Used the tracks USA kit and it is awesome. Goes together real nice and looks completely like a stock sled. Got to ride it for a while yesterday. It does push a little more but nothing bad. A little weight transfer and it will be fine. I geared down to the Renegade specs for the low end pull for off trail. It rides much better over the bumps and feel more stable. I did put on a Ice attack track. It hooks up better than my stock track with studs as I was on ice yesterday for a good test.

had a 121-136 kit before buying a 136 sled.

The kit does take some suspension adjustments to make it work and it will not work as well as a factory 136 suspension. It'll push a bit more, but you can make it work, but will take some tuning.

after buying a 121-136 kit I wish I would have done the 121-141 (tipped rail) extension with a cobra 1.375 track. I don't off trail much if at all so it's not that I want a mtn sled, but I think the tipped rail would not mess with the suspension geometry as much as a flat 136 ext, just my opinion.
