no....this will not work at all....they ALL need to be.....AT THE GATE...reread cheifcheese again

this is especially true given the fact that many trails around the Ottawa are gated to keep out passenger type vehicles yet are fully open to orv's

plus its rare we visit a towns establishment that's 60 miles away from base....we most likely start a fire and have some hotdogs, oysters, kippered snacks, beef sausage, wine, cheese crackers out in the woods....so we would not see the sign then....plus if it didn't have OWNER WANTS CLOSED IN SUMMER....TAKE TRAIL TO THE EAST 5 MILES TO 14 NORTH....BILLY THE FINNS THAT WAY....then we would all go straight

Well considering the trail in question is no where near the Ottawa national forest, let's focus on where it is located.

FFS, what about the people that do? For one second think of someone besides yourself.

skylar....I was simply pointing out that by putting it in an establishment....limits SEVERLY the amount of people seeing it...at the gate its 100% of riders AT THE GATE see the sign....but only 20% see the sign at a pizza joint....or 50% at a gas station....or 10% at a bar....if you only do a sign at several places and not ALL OF THEM IN ALL SURROUNDING BUSINESSES....which would cost way more than 2 gates....you would be limiting it to 10% seeing the signs...and my %'s are examples and not exact numbers but it is something along those lines....you live 6 miles away from the gate I am guessing....I live 600 or I would of put 2 up LAST WEEKEND....youse guys better hurry theres only 1 or 2 more months that the landowner will see you guys actually care about his gates...as of now he is still pissed and doesn't know anyone is contemplating this online and on his side

you guys that live up there....do ya have 2 dam signs made yet or not ya putzes....and are they on his gate? hopefully its not no...and hopefully you put your energy into some freaking card board signs and not my....ya putzes

No this trail is not in the Ottawa area. The entrance is only about what 3 miles south of Krumps and the Park view at Twin Lakes. Going around the gates is not a short cut to a bar or gas, unless you are coming from the back logging roads, or entering the trail on the Mass City, Greenland side. So are they being completely disrespectful and going around from the east at the Bill Nichols Trail, or coming from the west. Either way is wrong.

Suggestion, widen the gates. I know this will cost the club more money , but farm auctions down my way decent gates are going cheap. Attach to existing gates with chains and padlocks then to some trees. They obviously have a route around the gate. Ruin the route. At least the landowner won't be able to say the club didn't try.

There will be multiple trails up through that area that will not be usable for at least this year due to mother nature. Can we really afford to lose this one also!

O, and to put my money where my mouth is which club is this. I'll send money to assist in placing more gates. I believe it's Superior, but I could be wrong. Please let me know.

52 posts and this is still going....I don't understand how you encounter a closed gate, and do anything but turn around and either find another route, or go back the way you came to your truck/trailer. You should KNOW the route before you make the trip. This is not the responsibility of the landowner to inform people where to ride. Common sense and respect for private property.

Put the Gate on the Bridge, that will stop anyone from going around it. Or drop a big Tree on both sides of the gate. Big Rocks work also.
