trail problem-need help

how am i going to install a stop ahead sign?

PD...why you don't have a stop ahead sign on your sled, a shovel, perhaps a chainsaw to trim branches and other tools to make these repairs on the fly? I'm sure they could fit in the tunnel bag you have. Sounds like your buddy might be able to help.

Have a great ride and enjoy all the snow and hopefully low traffic!

I see both sides of this discussion.

You aren't going to be carrying tools/signs/saws etc when you are RIDING.

However, since I do most of my riding in MN, and a lot of people seem to think trails in some areas are poorly marked (I've seen some) it was a thought of mine to take a trip intentionally with the stuff on the sled, to make improvements. I'm sure you would want to coordinate that with the local clubs.

But think about it, when do you notice a spot or an area that might need additional signage or that face smacker cut?? When you are riding! I don't know, just a thought. A lot goes through a persons mind while on a saddle bag trip.....

to be honest..i never thought about driving back in my truck to try and clear the sign..ive been tied UP digging out of these insane snows(who would live here?)..4 hours just today..so i figured this was the best way to handle it..took me a couple days to even get a map..

I just saw this. I’ll mention it to our club pres and someone can run it out there if it hasn’t been corrected. I’ll need the exact location, let me know.

I trim back low obstructing branches, put up signs and pound posts every year, throughout the year, on trails....I don't have to join every club I do it for either.
You are stiring the pot thinking it take some official with a badge to mark a trail.
WI trails don't exist if that would be right....LOL...".randoms"….LOL....our club is FULL of "randoms"….LOL... I guess most of us are just "quiet" heroes

Ah, he isn't the only one. Riding yesterday in an area I never rode before. I knew the intersection I needed to turn on was coming up shortly according to my GPS mapping. No marking of it all, until I noticed the "intersection sign" buried in the trees. Pulled it out and cleaned it off. All is good.

If we all do a little when we notice, it falls less for the massive efforts of the local club. We all win then.

The Road Speed Limit is 55 or lower on this Gravel Road. Does any one know what the Speed Limit is on Gravel Roads in the UP? I think this is a Gas Tax Road.
