Trailer 7x?? for two sleds??

Ok so I was going to buy one of those side by side hybrid trailers but I understand they can pull hard because of wind. How long of a 7' wide trailer will I need to fit 2 sleds max track length of 144. Currently have 136" but you never know. I tried measuring at the trailer store but it is so difficult to imagine. So for those of you who have done it what length did you have??

I know this probably has been asked before but I searched I didn't get results. w/o the V nose how much box length do I need??

I have a Triton PR-147 and have fit 2 Nytro XTX sleds in there with room to spare although I would not go shorter. I think the next step down is a 12' length but for the minimal cost savings, I would probably not do it.

Hybides are so light I would not worry about the wind resistance vs more narrow vnose.....not worth the additional purchasing price.imo

I have a Stealth Predator with a 18 foot box. I normally only carry two 137 Vipers, but I bought it longer so I can haul three. To me the extra room that the 18 has over the 14 foot boxes is worth the cost. I can walk around both sleds easily and have plenty of room for gear. To me an inline is much easier to pull, see around and load sleds. Good luck in your decision.

18' for resale but if you want a 2 place go with the 14'....2 sleds take up 13' of the 18' box in my 3 place.
The v nose cuts through the air like a hybrid can't....sails are very light too.

I want to be able to pull easy with a 1/2 ton chevy truck. Couple of pals have bigger trailers that we pull with 3/4 trucks. Just don't want to depend on someone else's stuff if I wanna go north or whatever. Guess I will look into the v-nose. I guess the gear hauling thing in the hybrid might be an issue as well. Can get new hybrid for 4k but looks like inline will run me mid 6k range. Gotta decide if its worth it

Gotta ask. What does "sails are very light too." mean?

someone refered to hybrids being super light and because of that they tow easy....my point is , a sail is a sail....and I have found that the v-nose makes a huge difference from the side by side 8'-6" boxes (sails) I have towed in the past....to me, the hybrids appear to be not much more than a taller box.

BTW, I tow a 3 place with a 6.0 chevy 1/2 ton...easy peasy

6.0 can pull just about anything. I got the 5.3 and just don't like how it is constantly hunting for gears. I shift it in manual when I am towing but still.... My old truck was an 04 chev 3/4 ton 6.0 with the manual 5 speed trans. Now that was a truck. These new half tons are like a car with a box on em...

slim, rest assured, if your looking at an aluminum trailer, your 1/2t 5.3 will have no problems. I use to tow an 8 x20 enclosed Wells Cargo steel frame with 2 152's & 1 144 with my 2010 5.3 & had no problems.-Mezz

I'll agree with mezz. I have a 1/2 ton with the 5.3 with the 3.08 gear ratio and had no concerns when towing my 7X22 NEO. I put it in trailer mode and never had it hunting for gears. I normally ran 72-80mph so it didn't always kick into overdrive but if I ran 60 on some of the 2 lane stuff it was always in overdrive and did just fine. Now, if I had 3 sleds in there, or was going into a stronger wind it was a little slower to go to overdrive, but it never was hunting up and down.

Is that a Stealth 7 x 23'? (18' + 5' in the vee?)

I agree 100%. Had the same HD with auto and bought 5.3 1/2 ton. Pulls like v6 car. Really miss the 04

So went and looked at trailers today. Looked at stealth trailers as well as neo. Thinnking about going with a 7x14 with a 2ft v nose. No front ramp. Am I foolish for going that small?? Should fit 2 speeds pretty easy,

7x21' wouldnt go any smaller unless you absolutely sure its gonna work for long time.
I would want front door! My .02.

I have been thinking about a 2 place hybrid for the last two seasons. I have decided to go with a 7x21 stealth trailer. I also would get the front ramp, I think you would regret not having it later.

true but I get 8.9 with a 12f150 5.0 yanking a deckover 24ft v nose extra high with 3 sleds and all the gear to camp out for days at a time on a forest service lot . pulling a 7ft aluma that I have to duck in not exact on how long but if 1 goes in backwards 3 153 sleds fit tight same 8.9 to 9 mpg. a 12 ft triton clam same 9mpg.
now that is freeway hauling ars 80ish for 14hrs at a shot . point is once u hook one up and hit the gas u will be sucking fuel no matter what. the best thing about a v nose is they are more likely to have a twin axel option . I have been looking in to hybrids it is hard to even find a comp who will build one with 2 axels. I can put one one sure but why do I want to. but I am never buying a single axel trailer again. no one wants to be changing a tire on I80 going over a pass in a storm at night . trust me not good times .
as far as f ramps go I my self have only used the one on the 24 1 time. but that is where the cab with tv and stuff is located now .
