Trailer axle question

I have a mid 90's triton 4 place trailer with a bad axle I need to replace it. I been searching for new axle and keep seeing axle less axles. Has anyone on here had experience with them or seen them. It's the front axle with brakes that needs to be replaced. Just looking for some feedback or opinions or thoughts before I buy anything. Thanks in advanced.

Interesting, first that I've seen these, are they more expensive?
The only thing I would wonder about is if without the axle connecting if it would add outward stress to the frame?

Brent looking at the site it says that a cross member is needed at location for mounting these. If there is no cross member you can install one or connect the two sides with a solid axle in the holes located in the two sides. So yes it looks like you either need a cross member or a solid axle to prevent stress.

just don't forget the membrane between steel axil and ally frame.
have seen 2 that did not go well after a few yrs of forgotten membrane.
my guess would be on a twin axil trailer the ones u are looking at on link are not the same height or angel so u would have to do both.
I would just be getting the direct replacement for your triton.
if I am not mistaken the triton is a bit different than the flow caravan etc.
there are a few guys selling direct replacement for triton I was looking last yr

Yea, I was tired didn't read just looked at the picture ya know!
Although I did wonder what the square hole was about, alas, a square tube if no frame cross member!
Good call on the membrane Ezra,

Ezra I know all about membrane between axle and frame. Bought a 2006 triton 2 place brand new without membrane 3-4 years almost lost trailer n all. Lucky I was 1/2 block from home when axle fell off. A little fighting and 6 months later triton fixed trailer and replaced axle and section of frame
I had same thoughts on no cross support even tho my trailer has cross sections right above axle. Also know that height my be different. And did notice triton has slightly different axle width then other brands. I found direct replacement axle $500-600 for axle hubs brakes n all. Thanks for everyone's input think I may just get direct replacement and be done.
