truck worth the money?

Any truck with 560K isn't worth $1000 to me. I don't care how old or new it is, with that kind of miles, problems are right around the corner.

would have to agree with the both of you. 600 miles a day, crazy!

Under the vehicle history report it had issue found under accident. I have a friend who delivers RVs all over the U.S. and he runs his HARD. It's your business---however you have asked---I would walk/run away from this one.

Even if this machine was well taken care of, the fact that it has that many miles on the drive train and an accident which definitely affects the value, what you need to ask yourself is "if I had to replace the entire drive train" what would it cost me and if I did, it will still be a 2008 truck once you're done. Even a diesel has limits and reconstruction costs; Body looks fine...but beauty is skin deep, mechanical s cost money.

I wouldn't be worried about the engine. As long as the oil is changed and the coolant is tested every oil change, I'm sure it will hit 1 million miles without to much trouble. But pick ups are not made to go that far, so I would want to know if anything has been done to front end. However, I was talking to the manager of a Airport service and they have many chevy vans that they get 600,000 on the 6 liter gas engine and are still rolling. Good maintenance means a ton! And as far as 600 miles a day is concerned, not crazy, fairly average if you are in that line of work.

I can pretty well guarantee you it's on its 5th front end and 8th tranny LOL 100k on a Dodge front end with the heaviest diesel motor ever made, better stock up on ball joints. I've heard good things about the GM 6.0s lasting forever but man oh man they are worse on gas than the old 5.7 and tow worse IMO also.

I believe age is more a factor than miles when you are at 5 years old. I bet the truck has a few good years ahead of it still and yea, the trans or front end i would expect to need repair. If this thing was 12 years old and that many miles, run for the hills! I have an 01 van with 285K now and it still takes trips to Illinois and back 425 round trip. I am concerned the van will just stop one day soon although no indication as of now

Lenny, I still got you in mind if I get rid of mine if you are still interested altho the door bottoms are getting attacked by the rust monster. I have not totally decided if I'm getting rid of it or make it a plow truck for my property altho I'm waiting to see what the Ram V6 diesel will be like as I will most likely downsize. Altho I hate to step down but just makes no sense for me to get another 3/4 ton as much as I drive it, my 2001 just hit 92k.

Hey Indy, I "asked a question" to this seller, here is our conversation:

Dear manrad83,

Original engine and transmission. Replaced front bearings once. One new water pump. That's it. Been a great truck.

Dear johnsmd582,

Hello,

I wish I could tell you I was interested in buying but honestly I am not. Would you be willing to tell me how this truck has been for you. I do plan to buy a new one next summer but not sure what to buy. Have you been through multiple transmissions, frontends and other things. Any problems so to speak of, thanks.

I don't believe it lol my buddys 06 cummins 170k on its 3rd tranny 3rd set of wheel bearings 3rd set of ball joints. They all seemed to go around the same time according to the previous owner and the 2nd tranny went out 2 weeks ago hence it being on its 3rd.

oh little grasshopper, have faith my friend, not all have an agenda, not all lie. Not all tear up their rigs, Many take great care of their vehicles. Your not gonna see the guy lie and say it's original if it had been replaced.
