Two seconds from death near the Willow Flowage

Just my opinion everyone should stay in their comfort zone driving in good clear road conditions on dry roads within 7 mph over. Of course it varies all over everyone is different but I find from interstates and most 2 lane highways the cops let you blow thru traps if you keep it to 7 over. Again drive however you want not my business to tell you what to do just be safe. Just what I do.

That's what I do.

I have driven all over the place. Chicago, L.A., Spain, England and I match the local color. Spain is kind of aggressive. England takes a while because of being on the wrong side of the road. The first time I EVER drove in England I was taking a school bus from one base to another. So I'm the captain of what's like driving a tunnel, steering wheel on the left, driving on the left and when you see traffic coming around a corner at us I freaked out for a while!

You wanna try something crazy, drive in Puerto Rico, it's very strange. When you are at a T in the road you just kinda pull out no matter what the traffic is like. Drivers let you in. Drivers cutting off everyone. At what great about it is no one is honking horns or getting nasty. Then when you land in Chicago and walk outside that's all you can hear are the horns of pissed off drivers.

Spent a week with my rep in PR never had to clear the poop off my seat so many times in the mountains. He was passing cutting in and out constantly he always got back in from passing lane. It was nothing for him his normal style. With reps they do the driving every trip usually I’m rock solid in passenger seat PR was a tuff trip drivers were very aggressive.

Coming back from Madison on 90, 94, 39, 51 there was construction where the lanes went from 3 to 2 westbound before the Wisconsin River bridge. 6 pm and in the construction it was bumper to bumper at 70 mph. I was in center lane where third lane ended when half a mile ahead of me all the brake lights start lighting up. At that moment a car decided it was time to move from the right lane to the third lane, that no longer existed, directly behind me. I saw it coming and knew I had no options, because I wasn't rear-ending the vehicle in front of me, or putting myself into the semi on my right. So I made sure he hit me dead center in the rear and put himself straight into my ball hitch. His vehicle got totaled. I had no damage whatsoever. I always leave the receiver in when I drive, and the jerk tried to tell State Patrol that it was all my fault. Laugh my head off because the vehicle behind me had dash cam, and show the whole thing. He was also from overseas and was driving a rental vehicle, and somehow managed to not have any insurance. Long story short now a days you need 3 pairs of eyes and you have to expect anything.

You know it.

My first time there we had tried to rent a car and it was a scam, total bait and switch. Luckily we have friends there and we got a Explorer to drive. And even more lucky is I got to follow this friend out of San Juan to Caguas. We stayed up in the mountains of Caguas and the first thing I saw was this car going up this insane grade, it was a driveway! Then driving in the mountains was nuts. Coming over the tops of grades it looked like the road would just end, no guard rails, very few signs.
Then we took the back way from Caguas to Ponce. We stayed at the Hilton in Ponce, a dump, btw. Nice facility, terrible rooms, bad beach too.

Then we learned about some of the Condos people rented out and have stayed at those places too. Then we have a rich friend that lives in Palmas Del Mar and stay with him once and a while, he makes us. They drive golf carts there and just as silly.

I'm not welcome there because you said so?

On interstate or freeways/expressways I travel the same as I do anywhere, about 5 miles an hour above the speed limit and that's still wrong?
So how much above the speed limit should I be going to be correct for you?

Please enlighten me with your part time yooper knowledge.

Timidly?

I should drive the opposite of that which would be aggressively?

How about driving defensively?

I'll ask you too, how much over the posted speed limit should I travel?

I don't have any advice on the speed limit, that's up to each of us.
Driving defensively is good but one "should" drive offensively too.
Think about driving behind 6 cars following each other on a 2-lane highway going 10 under the speed-limit like WI-32 or US-2 in the U.P.; IF THE MORON FOLLOWING THE FIRST CAR (car #2) WOULD PASS CAR #1 AND SO ON AND SO ON, THESE LINES WOULD NOT GET SO LONG.

Fact #1. There is road rage. I don't condone but have some of it now and then.
Fact #2 PEOPLE CAUSE ROAD RAGE!

I wasn't talking about going under the speed limit but since you decided to mention it the speed limit is the fastest you are legally allowed to be traveling so really there should be no problem going slower than the speed limit.

I totally disagree with being a offensive driver unless you meant to mean being proactive.

And the speed limit is not up to us to decide, it's like a law and whatnot.....

I'm not disagreeing with you, I just have my own thoughts.

Up to the Government too..not my favorite statement.
I say less rules for the people the better.

I can agree with less rules the better but basic rules are needed that is why most law enforcement will give some leeway. But no rules and complete chaos because common sense is starting to become a thing of the past in our society.
