Type of oil for an 06 M7

I know this topic has been talked about many time over, but I bought a 06 M7 last yr and my exhaust valves were sticking a little bit. Well I bought a set of MCM bellows style valves and they still stick every now and then. So I am wondering if it isnt the oil I am using. In past sleds I have always used the sea & snow oil, never had an issue and had a triple with over 10K original miles with no motor work done. So, when I got this sled I used the synthetic sea & snow. Just wondering if there is something that is a little better maybe? My dealer said he uses 50:1 oil in his F7 (same motor) and loves it, just said you have to clean valves every 1000miles or so. Your thoughts would be great!

Are you premixing the oil? In order to know the ratio you'd need to run the sled, measure the oil usage per gallon of gas, and adjust and retest. I had to do this with my 2005 M6 and it was running something crazy like 20:1 before I adjusted it.

If you want to keep those power valves clean you have to keep the throttle WFO! No worries. LOL!-Mezz

Clean the valves at 500 miles and you will not have any problems. There is another way to check your oil comsumption. It is a oil usage gauge. I never used one but plan on getting one soon to check my oil consumption after adjusting my oiler rod 2 turns longer on my oiler rod on my 2009 AC crossfire 800. You unhook the oil line from the oil tank and hook it to this gauge which measures in CC's. You run the sled for 2 mins. with oiler at the idle position rpm at 1850 on motor and it should use the predetermined amount of oil listed in a Arctic Cat shop manual or one of them CD manuals you can buy on Ebay. Then the second test is holding the oiler lever wide open and running it for 3 mins. at 1850 rpm. It uses a predetermined amount of oil here also. I seen the gauge for sale at Speedwerks for $55. Anything that is maybe like a turkey baster that has CC's increments for measuring and can have a hose attached to it should work.
