Thanks Gary, and pclark! I should not be alive from what 3 of my surgeons told me! I was totally bed ridden for 3 plus months. Starting with severe lower back pain, due to a lower spinal infection, and abscess. Witch in turn infected the Mitral valve in my heart. Then the Mitral valve leaflets flaked off causing me to have a stroke. Extended hospital stay in OSF Peoria, IL ensued. 10 weeks of continuous IV, and infusions. I lost 40 lbs, and I'm now trying to get back my weight and strength so as to be able to have the heart surgery, and a successful recovery. I thank the Lord that the valve is not real critical will allow me time to regain my strength.
Yikes! That's a handful of issues. It's good that you can work on building strength again since you probably lost a fair amount of muscle mass with the weight loss. Continue to get well and keep us posted on your progress. Also, thanks for ensuring an epic snow winter :). So far it seems to be working. I swear we had lake effect snow off Lake of the Woods last Thursday, snowing heavily SE of the lake and sun shining 5 miles west. I have never seen that before.

Looks like this is starting out to be one crazy winter. Seems like it's snowing everywhere and especially in the LES areas. Even over here in MN I'll be blowing the driveway for the second time tomorrow. I agree - bring it on!

Thanks so much for all the Get Well Prayers, and Wishes! And yes I lost a lot of muscle mass, and strength. My heart surgeon told me again this past Wednesday that from the first he'd seen me, as I should have been dead, until now is absolutely surprising. It's slow to regain, but we are gaining. Kathe is feeding me like a pig!

Right now Cisco chain is freezing slow, we haven’t had the deep cold to really get it going. My back bay and other bay areas are iced over but big lakes not close yet. Next couple days some colder temps may help but then mid 30’s by midweek will slow it down again. All this snow sitting on top of swamps is not going to be a good thing.
So yesterday afternoon the lake was open with just edges and bay’s freezing up wake up this morning to 9 degrees out and lake is frozen over, didn’t expect that. The lake we are on is one of the first to freeze on the chain so I doubt any others have froze over yet but it is a start.

Saw people ice fishing on the bay on Big Arbor Vitae lake. They either crazy or don't mind taking a little swim in some chilly water.😅
