Vilas County changes trail openings

I read in the paper today that next year Vilas will open up (and close) club by club rather than as an entire county. It could get a little tricky but I like it. Wonder if more northern counties will give it a try.

This would be so great for those areas that are ready to go around December 1st which some are, just depends on the clubs and how they view their trails. Great for business and you can bet they will love it, many are members and donors of the clubs. Good move!

Last year Lando was held back when the rest of the county wasn’t ready. They said no more we won’t do that anymore. Good move imo.

They did this last year. They may have decided to now make it permanent. Trails still won't open until mid December due to deer hunting. They left some of the northern clubs open last year at the end of March while the southern clubs closed. I do know last year the way that it worked was if the club bordering you was open then you could open. So if Mercer was open then Mantiosh or Presque Isle to open. If they open then the clubs that border them can open. Kind of a strange way to do it. I have not seen if they modified it for next season or left it the same
