Did it last week on 107 to Kenton and was absolutely beautiful but did take a few Forest service roads to avoid the woodsy part close to Kenton, from there the grade to Sidnaw was a little rocky but not bad at all, from Sidnaw to Mass was in excellent mid season condition as thats basicly all roads, you will be fine.Plus there has been additional snow since then.
3 was only rough for the first few miles from the grade the rest was fine and 107 was fine. We based out of the casino with no issues.

What about 107 and Iron County is 107 being groomed and by who?
107 is groomed by Iron River. A friend was through IR last Thursday by car and said it was not good at all. Which probably means not rid-able. Often you will find large rocks on grade coming west out of IR if snow is light. Not likely that IR will take the tucker out on very low snow to get to 107. At least in the past they haven't. I also heard there was a big tree down on trail 2 grade just a few miles west of 107 intersection that needs to be cut up as it is impassable.

Yes that is how I understand grooming of 107 as well & yes last week Trail 2 east of 107 had rocks & trees leaning in so we got off asap back on FRs.
Some riders say 107 is great but how can that be if not being groomed? We will check it out this afternoon see if any progress. Iron County is not posting anything except trails closed lack of snow. Iron county is a big place but not lacking snow in all areas.

I am thinking the guys I talked to in the Casino were getting 107 mixed up with 109. Some people said 107 was good will be back up Wednesday to see for myself.

Everyone staying with us said the 107 was in good shape. I haven't heard anything from Iron River yet, I was just there this morning by car and it looks like they may have enough snow to run

107 was not groomed, but flat and fast a week ago. I don't think they have enough snow for it to really get bumpy.

I dropped at the Casino today at 1 pm and rode trail 3 to Houghton, about 100 miles. I rate the rails a 7.8 near watersmeet and improve to a 9 abut 10 miles from the casino. One odd things is just north of South range the snow levels drop about 30%.
Heading to the end of the tip tomorrow.

thanks for the info what did it look like driving from eagle river to waters meet esp around land o lakes
I do not recommend E.R., trails appear shot due to the Derby last weekend. As an indicator I did not see one trailer at the days Inn; quite sad actually. You can do Lando but north only I would guess.

So far you have to be creative to ride duck in & out of trails so know roads because grooming very sporatic in Phelps area. It may have had to be that way earlier but no excuse for it as of today. 17 has not been groomed in over a week moguls frozen in. 6 the best of the lot better west than east. Not sure 6 runs thru to Lando and they are not saying what is open & what is not. By pass grooming comes to roads & just stops then you have to find trail again on Sugar Maple Rd. I figured it out today but total PITA when trying to get form Point A to B on a schedule. Crossed ice from post office to GE but not marked they are way behind with all trail marking & grooming not sure they will catch up for this weekend no sense of urgency.
I can get to DT LOL pretty easily, if conditions allow that, i think/hope itll be good enough to jump on the grade to watersmeet then decide from there, whats your thoughts from lando to watersmeet grade?
I think it is only 20 miles from excellent riding, do it my friend.

I hit a few very isolated areas of trails such as 3 north of Bruce crossing for a few miles. Swamp areas appear ungroomed for a few miles, why; that appear frozen for about a week. I could be wrong though since it just got really cold, 12 below this mornning.

Probably doable but with stones....I'm trying FRs north again from Phelps with bud to see if Iron County MI has started grooming 2 & 107.

Bear was out grooming yesterday and is out today too. Watersmeet trails are in good to very good shape. The whole system was groomed yesterday and will be groomed daily from now on. Took one of the drivers who went trail #3 north up through the Bond Falls area and south to Land O Lakes for the first time of the season 10hrs it usually is a 6hr run. All is good to very good in the Bruce Crossing/Sidnaw area too
