I am supposed to ride in Wisconsin for the first time, we are planning on staying in Eagle River in February. I don't know anything about the place. Where should we stay...kinda wanted to be close to the action/bars for when we finish riding?

All right there on trail take your pick Super 8, Best Western, Days Inn & many others.

You should check out Black Bear Lodge just west of ER. Can go rustic in a cabin or modern in a lodge home and a bar restaurant right in the resort for fun after the sleds are parked.

I stayed at the Hiawatha last year super cheap and very nice place. Just on north edge of town (1 mile drive into town)

I see they advertise here so that was the first option I was mulling over. How big of a town is this...are there cabs? I won't be driving anything to and fro.

Too big to walk it. Downtown area is more of a retail hub not bars sounds like you want Hurley nightlife not Eagle River. Eagle River more of a family experince for sledder G rated...Hurley X rated big difference.

Looking for a decent sports bar or nice place to knock a few cold ones down... That's all. I have never been there and haven't looked into it much, just wanted to know what I was in for. A few nice looking ladies at the bar would be a bonus though:)

Chanticleer is a good place to stay, the new 12 pines is a place to have a couple, sweetwater has probably the freshest nightlife, and if you go to the frontier, make sure you bring wet wipes LOL!

X2 on the wet wipes Ryan! Last time didn't somebody touch something they that should not have? Glad I went home that night before it hit the fan but the ride was super fun......you did a good job leading a bunch of crazy waterskiers that day. lol Sweetwater best bugers in town.

Sweetwater is just down the trail from Hiawatha just outside ER. Fibbers in St Germain (6-7 miles west and then 2-3 miles north) has rooms with bar/supper club attached. Very nice place. Search the internet...lots of places for all different amounts of money. We stayed at Hearthside in St Germain and went to Thunderbirds after for drinks (1/2 mile down the trail)

Sorry if we went off topic...just trying to help

X2 on sweetwaters good food and drinks and you can walk it from Hiawatha about 200 yards north on trail.

Luke Duke, Sweetwater is a great sports bar and it is 100 yards north of Hiawatha. There is also Tommys Bar which is about 100 yards north of Sweetwater. Both within walking distance. Sweetwater gets a good crowd at night. Also a big BP station right there where you can stock up on Beers for the hotel. There are some bars just south in town but that would be a little too far to walk. Hiawatha is a good location as you will probably want to ride north from there and you wont have to deal with all the stop signs and police going through town.
