Wasnt sure if it was going to snow on Christmas a few days ago and i was pleased to see a snow advisory today changed into a "lake effect snow warning" Up to a foot of snow!
heres some from the nws site THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MARQUETTE HAS REPLACED THE LAKE
EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY WITH A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING FOR HEAVY LAKE
EFFECT SNOW..
* BY THE TIME THE SNOW SHOWERS DIMINISH LATE TONIGHT...PLAN ON A TOTAL
OF 6 TO 12 INCHES OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN FROM
THE PORCUPINE MOUNTAINS TO IRONWOOD AND WAKEFIELD.
* A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF LAKE
EFFECT SNOW ARE FORECAST. LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN
BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP 1 TO SEVERAL
INCHES OF SNOW PER HOUR FOR SEVERAL HOURS. VISIBILITIES VARY
GREATLY AND CAN DROP TO ZERO WITHIN MINUTES. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY
DISCOURAGED. COMMERCE COULD BE SEVERELY IMPACTED. IF YOU MUST

To replace the helmet I have been wearing since I was born, I got the one pictured below and the snowmobile calender from my parents. Still waiting for my scott 89 xi turbo goggles to arrive to go with it though. Also got money, which will either go towards a gps with topo maps or snowmobile gas. As a gift for my dad, my mom, dad, and I will be doing John's ride in.
