<font color="0000ff">I must have went to the same school as Notaboveme! I still trek around in Lacross Iceman's also. (with plastic bags for easy removal!)
Rocky's and Columbia. The Rocky's are 800 grams thinsulate with Gore-tex, they keep my feet warm and dry. I have had my Columbia boots for 10 years and they are warm.
Both of my boys wear Rocky or Cabela's type hunting boots and never complain about cold or wet feet when riding. Both have Gore-tex in them and are 1200 grams thinsulate.
Ranger brand bought at Fleet Farm. Thinsulate insert and very comfortable - feet NEVER get cold. Price is only around $40 - 70, which after having worn them for several years turns out to be a bargain. Wife and both kids also have them and no complaints at all. Even had a guide out in Jackson Hole ask me what brand they were and where I got them!
If you go with any boots make sure they do not have any sharp buckles or snaps on them. One year in the heat of ditch passion I was rolling around on my seat and tore it up good.
Klim Adrenalines. Best boots I've ever owned by far. But remember to get the full effect of gore-tex you have to have the right socks. NO COTTON! Wool or synthetic.
Like mustard I have the Rangers from Farm and Fleet and they have been warm and dry for well over 5 years now and you can't beat the price of under $50.
i have a pair of irish setter's too. Used them last year. Worked good. But wanted something thicker. They were warm but i wanted warmer so i went with the rocky's. I had the same rocky's 5 years ago then i gave them to my aunt
Lacross Ice King, warmest boot i have ever worn.the iceland and iceman are very good also. I also have a pair of Vasque, gore tex, very good medium temp boots.
