Was all this carnage caused by hand signals being given?...LOL ...this is dumb logic.

I like the comradery that the hand signals give to the sport. Guys on bikes do it all the time.

Worrying about someone giving me a HS and being even a minor problem on the trails is idiotic at best.

I'd say most on this site have way more riding experience than the NH idiots that took the time to address this hilarious issue....talk about much aDoo about NOTHING!!! Bureaucratic idiots.....I bet they think they actually did something to improve snowmobile safety...smh.

I don't really give a rats *** if you quit giving HS , I will continue to shove my signal in your sideways skidding face to let you know my home keeper is around the next corner....lol

Ha, ha, ha! Ah, giving em the real sign, eh! That's my style!

I ride the ditch instead of trails. The trails are too narrow, too many blind corners and riders go to fast.

I've spoke about his before here and got a lot of hate.

Did you even read the article and try to understand WHY they believe hand signals are unsafe and based on flawed logic, or did you just glance at it and start hammering on the keyboard because "we always use hand signals, and they make us safer" without even considering the possibility that you could be wrong? Just because you have "always done it this way" does not make it right.

Right, it's always a good idea to F with complete strangers, because they couldn't possibly be way more of a badass than you, right? Good luck with that behavior.

Personally, if I'm not leading, I sweep. I ride the same front or rear, but it is so much easier riding sweep as the groups coming at you have deadened their pace, most of the time.

With that said, I have no issue signaling the fist when sweeping and then give their last riders a fist pump to have a little fun with it. Some riders have started doing the same back at me. Never had one single issue - and no, once its dark, or close to dark, I don't signal. Can't see hands anyway.

Quite honestly, its about having fun right? Waving/fist pumping/what ever - enjoy the ride.

Funny, I've been doing a fist pump for years when riding sweeper (my main riding spot).

do some a youse sit on the www and scan for snowmobile deaths all day long?...

She has some site on her phone that's all sled stuff of all kinds. As she not being able to ride this year, still enjoys see others do so. All over the U.S., and Canada. The deaths are the sad part, but they just keep happening it seems if there's snow to ride, where ever.

Came off Lake Vermilion on Saturday at The Landing and headed north on the Arrowhead. In less then 10 minutes I'd been clicked by three sets of skies and put myself up on the inside berm to keep from getting hit head on. The further we got away from the lake the better it got. I'm glad none of my kids were with. It's like they were playing a video game and the concept of oncoming traffic didn't exist. Corner to corner and no care for anyone else.

If snowmobiling is so dangerous and death around every turn , why not try something different ? Barking on JD about the "other guy " hasn't and wont change anything.

You must be the most unluckiest rider in the state of Wisconsin. Getting "clicked" by three sets of ski's and having to avoid a head-on.....I ride lead for my crew all the time, ride all the busy weekends and have never had anything close to this happening. I'm pushing 2000 miles on the season I can count only one time that I had someone even in the middle of the trail coming at me.

I find it near impossible to stay on the right side of the trail later in the day when the corners 3/4ths bermed up with the inside corners iced paved flat... When this happens I usually try to reduce down from warp speed and hook the berm and prepare to bail right when meeting up with opposing traffic patterns all while giving them the oneski loudcan salute as I wick the flipper up outta the turn...
