What makes a "good run snowmobile club"?

As a different direction from "future of our sport" post and some of the concerns of lack of involvement, for those of you that do belong to a "good run snowmobile club" what is it that you believe sets yours apart or is better than one you once belonged to that you may not have felt was well run? hoping for responses and ideas from club principles, members and non members alike, also from people that are from low snow areas as well as the snow belt areas. And for those non-members what would it take to get you to join one or commit a few hours of time to one? no bashing here, just ideas, comments and ideas

Three Lakes. We are very large and cover around 186 miles over 2 counties. We have two organizations. One for the trails and one for the social aspect. It allows people to gravitate towards whichever they are interested, or both. Trails meetings are much more productive and without disruptions which would not be possible with a single organization. The Trails group was largely a good old boys group up until about 10 years ago when we pushed for more women participation. This diversity allows for leveraging skill sets and has proven to be quite valuable. While we recognize the youth challenges, we don't sweat it and allow everybody to pitch in up to their comfort level. If volunteers aren't happy, results aren't good.

Well said in the future of the sport but I think a club that makes you feel welcomed and really seems to appreciate those that do help even if it is not much compared to the hours they put in. The 2 clubs we help are very welcoming and just really good folks and always seem to appreciate are help even if it is just to brush on a Saturday. I would love to help more but being a working stiff 5 hours away from where I ride makes it hard. I know 2 of the 3 clubs we belong to are very welcoming and those are the 2 clubs we help. It gives us a good feeling to be able to help out in a sport that gives us so much joy. Also when your out riding and you go down a trail that you brushed it gives you a feeling of accomplishment knowing you helped on that trail.

All of our board members seem to come out of the business world, they already have book keeping and organizing skills. They are passionate snowmobilers, and have good people skills
