Cuzzinolaf is so prepared, he wore that backpack to the snowshow!

Funny guy. It is comfortable and can fit a lot.

Hey cuz-o, are you camping or sledding?

There were to separate instances in which I thought I'd be spending the night out. I am sledding and prepared to camp.

You never know if you'll get separated from your group. Some of the stuff is overkill for the UP but it is better to have it then not to have it. I spent a lot of time reading threads on Snowest to identify things I might want/need if I ever spent the night out. Some people bring a lot more than I do.

All that stuff listed above is fine and good-but if you really want to make it out there, you forgot the 2 most critical items--

A spack o' Pabst and a couple spam sandwiches:)!!

Compared to most, I don't carry much. Jumper cables, strap, water, sihon hose, gloves, hat, balaclava, tapes and belt. I use to carry plugs until I did the valve check up, Plugs are not trail replaceable on the Z1's, and I've rebuilt a chaincase in a drift.

I do carry enough equipment in the trailer to rebuild a sled

He rides a cat so he needs to be prepared when he has to spend the night in the backwoods because of a broken down sled :)

I'm with ya cuzz. I didnt see emergency blankets on your list though, you can use them to make you pine bough bed more comfy or build a tent with the parachute cord.

That stuff too. My heated grips suck on those long trail rides back at night when we get way out there.

I also carry a tow strap to yank the Pooplaris RMKs out of the drink.

I have a heetsheet. I always thought that was the same.

cuzz, I most certainly will feel safer riding with you. I will have to swing by my boat and pick up my flare gun before our trip.

No need to post my list. It is very similiar to Cuzz's. Been in the mountians twice in white out conditions. Both times we were close to the trail and able to get back to the parking lot or cabin. Things would have been very different if we were a mile or so off trail. Hunker down and wait it out. I am a little less "prepared" when in the UP because worse case scenario you could probably walk out if needed. A couple of the Ring Ding guys had to leave their sleds in the woods and walk out last year.
