… Now fruits, on the other hand.....I can't think of a more nasty, vile creation than cantaloupe or honeydew.
Fruits? Oh you haven't lived til you've experienced Durian — a.k.a. "The king of fruits", "the fruit of the gods", "caviar of fruit", "the most delicious food on earth" — to give some hint about how it tastes.
The taste is unique. Custard, almonds, and perhaps a hint of garlic. Or perhaps banana, papaya and vanilla.
… If you can get it past your nose: Its aroma is almost overwhelmingly foul; some phrases that have been used to describe it "rotting fish," "dragon’s breath,” "unwashed socks," and "carrion in custard". I would add "rotting onions" and "dirty gym socks".
Anyone for Durian ice cream? Yum! (Yes I have had both the fruit and the ice cream!)

Durian is one of the few foods Andrew Zimmern, of the Travel Channel show “Bizarre Foods”, couldn’t stomach—and he’s eaten rancid meat and maggot-infested cheese!
