A PUPPY CAM!

Got word that Maia, one of the mascots of the Ash Trail Lodge in the boundary waters of MN is getting ready to have pups- at least 14 of them!

Tom from the lodge has moved one of the cams to capture everything. I just checked and things are pretty dark right now, but hoping for some action soon. You can see the cam at the Ash Trail NCN.

Congrats to Tom, Deb and Steve at the lodge!

Sorry the temporary blackout, of course the big server migration in Los Angeles coincided with the puppy cam launch. She hasn't popped yet! I will do my very best to keep the cam up and running!!!

12 all said and done!

8 black - 4f/4m
4 yellow - 3f/1m

Maia is being a great new mother!

No amount of birds we won't share together this fall can make up for the amazing experience of whelping these pups with her til the wee hours of the night!!

My house has been following the puppies everyday. Great enjoyment!
Have you noticed any "special" personalities?
It appears all are being taken care of!!
Thanks

They are all growing up and learning to use their 'voices' at night, attempting to walk, and getting ready to open their eyes.

We are cutting bandanas in 3/4" stips and accommodating growth to keep track of the 'chosen' ones.

They all have personalities, it is one of the most interesting things I have ever seen. I can't wait to see how they change and mature as the weeks go by!

The weather gods must be with them as they were headed out of the apartment and into the garage, but we'll let them grow one more week before sending them to the heated garage. Plus I have to fish all weekend and can't help move the whelping box.

My greatest ever baby sitter knows how to keep the cam running while I'm gone, so stay tuned!!

BTW - heavy winds took most of the beautiful leaves off the trees up here today, so Mr. Keweenaw's leaves shall not be far behind

Little pups are really getting frisky. Thanks for the live cam. My family has followed this since the pups were born. The Grandkids really enjoy watching the pups. They keep asking me if they can have one.
