What's going on with the BFH?

Just talked to gigakesslers who said they found some incredible snow in South Range. Said it was best opening weekend he has ever been to.

They said the BFH had police tape all over it and one of the trails leading into it was taped off.

Just curious as to why this is? Was there an accident or do they just want people to stay off of it?

I guess it could be that the owners want people to stay off it. Lori from the Wildlife Refuge Cabins made this quote on another thread, but did not go in to details. "Please don't try the BFH yet either, be safe have fun!"

Guys I heard they will be having a hill climb again this year!!! Reason for the tape to keep people off of it. They used to have hill climbs there every year a while back. Maybe Skip will see this and give us some more info.

Are they still doing the one at Copper Peak? I heard somewhere they are not allowing the event this year. Not trying to start rumors so if this is untrue please disregard.

They are moving the Copper Peak Hillclimb to Whealkate this year because they are having Ski flying events at Copper Peak once again......They are trying to get a base on before everyone digs it down to dirt...

Another pic taken from further away. The hill is not that big really. It is just that there is nowhere to turn out if needed and it get icy at the top. Kind of surprised that they would be holding hill climbs on it. Do they intend to create obstacles on the hill to make it more challenging?

you can still go up the back side through the woods i presume,but stay off the hill itself?
