What's my Floe Protector trailer worth?

I'm looking for some input on the value of my Floe trailer. I'm thinking of selling as our new home is on the trail and I have no need for it anymore.
It's a 14x8.5 drive on/off (16' to the front of the V nose), twin axle with Protector gull wing top. No brakes. We purchased new in 1999 i think- I have the papers
at home so i can check that later. It has been stored indoors most of it's life. I replaced ALL decking including ramp and V nose last year. At that time, I added Caliber
ski guides and grips.

My dad purchased a 12' 2001 this year for $3800. It was like new. I'd bet you could get no less than $3000.

Thanks willey. That's what I'm kinda thinking - $3000 seems fair. It's probably the wrong time of year to sell but I can always stick it in the warehouse til september and deal with it then if I dont get any interest. I'll probably move this to the trailers for sale thread tomorrow and see...

fwiw I paid $3175 for a brand new 2014 Triton 8.5'x12' clamshell 2 place.

Indy good price on Triton but anything Floe not cheap in any way. I have 96 ' of Floe pier for 10 years no problem & sill have 5 years warranty left.lol Triton makes good trailers & probably more trailers but Floe better. IMO

I've been trying to find the pics of it with the wings open but pretty sure they're on my old Droid phone. I'll try to hurry home and open it up before the snow storm hits tonight and get some pics to post with it in the classifieds.
I am really kind of hesitant to sell it as I couldnt afford to replace it but I simply dont have use for it anymore. I didnt pull it once this winter.
Of course, as soon as it's gone, I'll need it for something..lol

I'm thought if you can keep it never know when something might happen and now you need a trailer. If you have access to a trailer in emergency that is one thing if you don't what then. I've also used it just to ride a different area load up drive a half hour to hour drop and ride. Just my thoughts.

We are also on trail but buddy rented an open trailer to pick up new sled last fall for $25 or less... was not much....you do have alternatives to owning.

Being studded helps- I ride it up my atv ramps into my truck. It's a tri-fold with ski guides on it. It stays quite clean up there also. Quick & easy, better gas mileage than pulling trailer, better traction in truck with weight back there, no worries about trailer tires, bearings, etc.

Been a couple years now but I sold a 1998 10' drive on/off floe for $2,500 in the middle of the summer. I owned that one for 3 years and made a grand on it. I think you should be able to get more than $3,000 for it so I'd start at $3,700 and see what happens.

fwiw I paid $3175 for a brand new 2014 Triton 8.5'x12' clamshell 2 place.

I remember that Indy. You got a great deal, was it tilt though? I sold a 2007 drive on/off 12' Triton for $3,750 last June. Was like new, only used by the first owner 4 times, and never in the winter, stored inside all the time. I owned it for a year and made 8 or $900 on it.

Not trying to brag about making money, just saying good 2 place clamshells are like gold now it seems and if you do things right you should be able to get a good buck for them. The 14' may be an odd size but you could point out that any sled will fit in it and still have room for gear bags with no problem.

14 is a little odd but it does fit 3 sleds which is why we originally purchased it. I hauled an M154, Renegade, and TNT in there. Shorty goes in backwards.

them things pull smooth as a sail...v-nose stand up with brakes for a few bucks more brand new is the only way to go....I like seeing around my trailers.

Didn't mean that any way other than not typical. A lot of 2 or 4 placers out there, these are a little less popular. Had a buddy with an open one, we hauled 3 sleds facing forward with it cause we could pull them farther forward. Wasn't really sure how 3 would fit in the enclosure so sounds like it works.

I don't agree with snobuilder about how they pull. They are great, but the reason I sold mine last summer was to buy a new inline 3 place and while it pulled about the same, it was nice to see around it. As far cost goes, even with a good deal a new inline 3 place is still 6k which is more than just a few bucks more. I think you should be able to get 35 for sure.

I get better mpg's pullin a loaded 3 place like we both have which is easily twice the weight of a loaded clam shell 2 place...the air flow coming off yur typical tow vehicle slams down on them 8.5 wides in the most inefficient towing configuration ever invented...looks in great condion...$3000.00 to the right guy who needs to cram 3 in( if the tires ain't cracked)...most 2 place enclosed used buyers are in the $1500.00 market where there is a glut a enclosed trailers to be had.

I agree with the inline advantages...it's nice to be able to stand up in the trailer and see around it through your mirrors.
The floe does pull very smoothly but I'm sure an inline is better. It definitely is lighter than an inline.
Rims and tires were replaced a couple years ago. What the heck - for $6,000 I'd throw in a '04 mxz 500ss with 1,900 miles on it. I'd even include the cover and tunnel bag..

It is tilt but has the big front door. If I were to get a clamshell I would not want a drive on/off anyway but that's just me. I got 15 year warranty on trailer. My tires are already half tread after one season lol

That's a long warranty - what does it cover?

What size 3 place do you have? I figured a low profile floe proteckor would be good on gas compared to the taller trailers. Sorry to get off topic but i'm curious about your comments since I'm looking for a 3 place trailer that doesn't need an oversized truck to pull it around.

Guess I should have been a little clearer as I agree with most things said. I do like the inline better, just didn't feel the clam pulled bad at all which is what I thought was being implied, but no big deal. Not sure I get much difference in mileage, but do notice a little more sway with the cross winds on the inline. Still think a lot of guys are looking for good clams and will pay a lot more than 1500 for the right trailer. My 6k price was for a new inline 3 place trailer. Haven't seen many used inlines on the market so not sure how they are holding the value, but I'd bet an all aluminum inline will still fetch a good dollar.

Back to the original question, I'd look for 35 for the trailer, but if you put it up for 3 I'd think you'd get someone pretty quickly as long as it was in a central location so you could pull buyers from all over.

All aluminum 3 place V-nose and weighs in at 2100#'s. Hauls 3 yamahogs with a 1/2 ton and I get at least 1 mpg more than my rnr enclosed 2 place last season. Similar conditions overall with head/tail wind over 6-7 trips up north on avg I would say.
I am surprised myself at how easy this thing tows....I always LOL when ppl use the old adage...."I don't even know shes back there"....but this one comes close.
Only thing that has to be considered when turning a corner or parking is the extra 12' of length over the 2 place.

Hey I'm not sayin the 8.5' 2 place enclosed is crud, they keep your sleds clean and certainly work well and have there place.
There is a wide range of features and quality between manu. as well and
the Floes and Tritons is at the top of the heap for sure.
