"My first car, my Monte Carlo and my great grandmas 68' buick lesabre. Only 22,000 miles on the lesabre!!"

Slimcake,

Is that a '73 or '74 Monte? I had a 1973 blue Monte with a white landau top. Cruise, tilt and air with the old Corvette wheels. It had a 350 cid V8 with a 2bbl Rochester carb that I replaced with a 4bbl Rochester and added HEI ignition. Loved that car! My mom had a '68 Le Sabre as well which was also a nice car. The Buick was so long that when I took my road test in it for my driver's license, the instructor had me do a Y turn in a residential street on garbage day. I knocked down a garbage can, LOL!

1975. Last year for the round headlights. 400 small block powered. Shes a long way from stock but very well mannered. High revvin small block!! The Lesabre is actually about 2 inches longer than the Monte. Couldn't believe it when I pulled it into the garage. Need a lot of real estate in the garage with them two land yachts!! I'd love to try one of these. Cool looking and sitting side by side is nice. Got to love the 5 speed manual on the floor too! Has to be a blast.

We really like it. Rode Harleys for years & then switched over to this 2 years ago. Haven't looked back. It has a radio with blue tooth, navigation, back-up camera, etc... so has some creature comforts.

My first car was a 1974 Blue Monte Carlo.
I also had a 1968 (?) Lesabre. Man that thing had one deep back seat area!

Just Kidding, although that is what I grew up using as a boat. First boat my Dad let me use by myself when I was 8 years old, Alumacraft 14ft with 1960 Johnson 10 HP motor, still runs perfect.

This one is my go to fishing boat, wy more comfortable to fish out of. Hopefully the pics are viewable.

Mezz, what year is that Z? I have a black 91 RS with the wimpy 305 TBI and I had the plan, some time ago, to drop in a Z motor to make it a sleeper. Since it is at the parents house in storage it rarely comes out as I do not have room for it. Now I have to decide if I get rid of it but that has been some difficult thinking as I love that ride and still being at 20k it may be worth more holding it versus selling it for peanuts. Not to mention I still have the department of defense registration on it when I was in the military which I joked about it being the "black jet", well it was fast for me at the time even though in reality it is a dog, it was the sensation of speed :)

Racerx, that is a '91 as well, it too has the TPI (tuned port injection) 305, however, I've done some changes to it that breathed some new life into it. Though I would like more hp out of it, it is a numbers matching motor, trans & chassis. It is a blast to drive, the handling is like a slot car. I would recommend that you hang onto yours, they are climbing in value slowly, but, I didn't buy it to put it under glass, I drive it as much as I can during the summers. They like to be driven, park them, they go to ****, so drive it, enjoy it. -Mezz

Thanx for the reply as it was encouraging to lean to keeping it, this ride has a lot of sentimental value. Was surprised you said 305, was going to ask if you meant 350 as I thought all Z28 had 350 TPI, guess I never did the research as I found out it did have multiple engine choices. Wish I would have known that back then as I was buying right off the lot. My RS was an every summer weekend ride but it does not see bad days outside (especially since it is black) and the wife took over MY garage so it has skipped many a year. But now we will probably be moving so I see it coming out more as it will be in MY new garage instead of 50miles away but I do have family that wonder if that will be the case. I just wonder if that low air dam will bulldoze the new drive :)

Thanx again
