Dec 1st.. Talk to Wally at Cloveland and said they have good snow, but they have not rolled or panned the trails in the Ironwood area.
Check SNOWTRACKS.com for trail openings.

Lenny,

Do you have a set schedule or how does Richard handle that? Just curious.

from my understanding as long as we have snow, cold and Dec 1st we can groom. Mike Sabo is club Pres and determines when we start but I am sure that decision is in conjunction with others like Richard, Pat McIntyre and who ever is involved. As long as the machines are ready, Dec 1st is here, snow is on the ground, cold enough temp and groomers willing, we ought to be rolling.

We do have a set schedule of who groom where and when.

Dec 1st in our area, we have 4 inches on the ground, lakes are freezing over nicely, need more snow! Sorry my hubby won't be grooming this season BUT hopefully I can still give you guys a trail report. I did the report on Snowtracks.com in the past. Hopefully past Groomer Hubby will get to ride this year, but he say's he is going to ice fish Oh well , I moved up here to ride and that's what I am going to do.

gogebic range trail authority will start rolling on the Dec. 1st, then hope it freezes down and get more snow, because the riding will not be good til more snow.

I talked to Mike Sabo today and there will be no grooming on December 1st just like there hasn't been in the past. They will wait for sledders to come up and pack the trails and freeze them otherwise the groomers will be stuck especially on trail 13. The only trail I could see anything happening on would be 3 north and that's probably slim to none on the 1st. We need you guys to show up and pack them in so get here if you can!!!

I think that's a very good strategy! Spread out and pack down swampy and wet areas so it freezes the whole width of the trail. Swamps won't freeze if they aren't packed down.

My group will be up to pack trail 13 from Greenland to Twin Lakes on the 1st. May also do the Freda loop if the snow is good. I have done this for the last ten years. WE RIDE !!!!!

Sounds good guys. The more people riding the better off the trails will be for the rest of the winter!
