Where Is Early Season Trail Grooming in WI & MI?

WD - did you see anything on 10W - west of ER? Along HWY 70? Or around St. Germain - are they panning over that way yet?

Yes some grooming going on in Saint yesterday but difficult to see from 70.... Ride east on 10 from ER to Anvil that was looking very good. Phelps 17 panning looked very uneven don't know why? If you can get up here Friday morning you will enjoy shaking out your new sled a big storm coming in Friday afternoon into Saturday so Vilas will get better but will be tuff driving on 39 north during Friday night.

I used to take 51N when driving to Fisher Lake in northern Iron Cty (dads place), but now take 45 all the way as it's shorter for me. I'm not heading up this weekend even though I'm off Friday. Not a big fan of early season riding. I'll be up from 12/26 to 1/3. Can't wait. Keep us posted on what happens with this next storm.

No grooming here in the Cameron/Chetek/Weyerhaeser area. Trails are not open.

BTW - I can't wait for the "where's the 'effin groomers?" posts! Bank on it!

NBC Rhinelander has us in 8-12 ban starting Friday afternoon. I saw sleds out on 10 East Eagle River today & seemed to be holding up aok. After next storm we need Oneida & Forest to open up Monday so we can ride in any direction and have good conditions.:)

You have less snow than we have down here in SE WI. So there is a good reason to not open in Forest Co. too early. be patient old man, lest you be disappointed and complain about the trail cond.

Hey snowbungler, quit being a jack-wagon. I drove thru Waukesha and Racine Cty today - there's no big snow, maybe 5-6 inches settled. I wouldn't drive my sled on that garbage right now, but this next storm, IF it happens, should make things good. At least until next week when it hits lower to mid 30's and it all melts again.

Plenty of snow in NW Forest just laying there. I think 3 lakes prolly can't get thru with groomers to Brule trails could be can't cross lakes or not enough snow 40 miles south of NW Forest. Kimball Trail always late to the groom party but that could change this weekend. I can wait on Forest trails planning on riding NE towards Amasa during Xmas week to get away from traffic. Lots of sleds out in Eagle River enjoying the trails.

Sounds like the 100 Miler has been out panning select trails of theirs, but overall not enough snow county wide to open at this point.

Edit: From 100 Miler president - if snow comes as forecast, hoping for opening Forest County next Friday morning to allow for time to pack trails and freeze swamps.

In Three Lakes, we never cross lakes with groomers. We've been more focused on packing swamps last couple days but have also panned some. Look for Oneida and Forest to announce something soon.

LMT has been out panning in Forest County, Wi. Need more snow as of this morning looks like only 3 or 4 inches since Friday's storm. We will need about 3 or 4 more to open. Swamps are still a no go for groomers. We will be out today packing swamps with long track sleds.
We are all hoping to open for the Holiday's it will be close if this snow keeps up. Lakes are not safe yet but may be in a week. Check our Facebook page for more updates.

Got off work a little early yesterday so figured I would burn last years gas out of the sled. Made the Hancock Lake Linden Calumet loop, the trails were as good as I have ever seen. Only about 12 sleds and two groomers.

12-20-16 Twin Lakes-Greenland-Mass City Trails are excellent-A lot of water in the lake effect snow so the grooming holds wonderful with the very cold temps.

Krupps_resort is correct, all very good. We parked in their lot and ran the trail from Twin Lakes on Monday north and south, all trails were great and fun to ride. A big thanks to Krupps for allowing us to park in their lot!
