It sure isn't Ski-Doo.
Renters sleds equal 0, squat, zip, zero in this equation.
Riding WI and the UP away from sled rental hot spots and the truth about what true sledders ride is evident.
Yamaha dominates when compared to sled sales stats.
All brands have a good showing but you would NEVER know by counting that statistics wise, Doo is #1.
Riding early in the day I see the Yamahas dominate.
To me they are the top tear of true sledders.
6% sales = 30% ridden, easily
Stuff it Doocult....LOL

Ski Doo has top share by quite a good margin. I'm at the Polaris dealer meeting now and Doo is still at the top.

Kip sells ski doo?...doesn't matter....who cares.... this isn't about who sells the most. It's about what gets ridden and Yamaha is in the running to #1 if not #1...pretty good for #4 in sales....LOL

I think location/market has a lot to do with what you see on the trail. When I lived in the Soo back in the early 90's Yamaha was the most popular sled for that area and time. This winter riding in west and central Wisconsin 70% of the sled we saw were either Cat or Skidoo. 25% Polaris and a few Yamahas.

Location does matter as to what sleds you see on the trails....big resorty rental areas have borrowed Doos all over the trails. Where we ride, no rentals = waaaay less doos, waaaay more Yamahas, Poos and Cats as well....folks who are committed to the sport, like owning the bowling ball AND the shoes.

The most popular rental sled is the MXZ600 sport carb - hands down....

Oh boy, I was thinking "low depreciation" is "ONE" reason Doo has the highest sales but now I have to support Brad 400.
My guess is the 600 carb is popular because the combination of low depreciation and dependability are most important to a Dealer when renting. Yamaha has the dependability but the customer wants to rent a current year model and changing out a new Yamaha rental fleet annually is mega bucks when the 600 carb Doo is about 6,700 (Dealer cost) with E-S.
