Just a heads up, There is a group of retro riders out there. they reminded me of a circus routine, first time I seen them in Munising. They ride old small sleds 250's and 340's mostly some have Ape hanger bars. They make a point to wear Carharts and helmets that have glitter in them. It does take awhile to pass them, but heck they are having fun to. I say relax a little. Since there is no speed limit on most all the trails in MI doesn't mean wide open all the time. I suspect some of them were wide open. Sounds like that guy was all about the trip and not the destination. Like when Cheech and Chong thought they were speeding and they were doing 7 MPH. when they got pulled over.

Carharts would have been a HUGE step up for retro rider & old yeller but I don't think he would use high tech big buck stuff like Carhart!! :p I do luv my Carhats gettin wood fer the fire each day & for wrenchin but not my Sunday go to meetin best for trail ridin. :)

This group with the old sleds, do some of those sleds have a more morden suspension? I think I might have seen that group.

I bet that old timer would have loved to see you fly off of the trail in your fit of trail rage, I bet he wouldn't stop either. Have some respect for the other people on the trail, some old timer out to enjoy the day and some JACKWAGON sprays him with snow.

X2! Merry Christmas, here is some snow and ice in your open face helmet. No wonder the guy's face was red!

Call me crazy, but I see nothing funny about bad grammar and spraying some poor guy in his face (while wearing an open face helmet no less) because he did not understand that your "brapp knock alert" was a signal for him to pull over and let you pass. Sometimes we forget that the old sleds do not have mirrors and are a lot louder than the newer sleds. He may have thought that something was wrong with his sled each time you "brraped" and was turning his ear twards the engine to get a better listen. It is the Christmas Season, would it have killed you to be a little more patient with this guy.

My thoughts too. Old guy out there trying hard to remind himself why he USED to like this sport...and listening really hard to hear that "engine knock" which suddenly came up but would go away as soon as he turned his "good ear" to the location he thought he heard it coming from....totally clueless that you were back there in a rocket sled, trying to get past him....cause what are mirrors anyways??

Now the guy gets back home...throws his open face helmet on the floor, cussing and swearing that he "thought" he had that old piece of iron fixed, only to hear it occasionally get noisy every now and again....and while he was just about to figure out where that noise comes from some toad head (this be you sir....) runs him off the trail and sprays him with ice pellets which hurt like the dickens....

I sure hope you're happy whitey......as another one bites the dust! Like girls...they just wanna have fun....too!

Do me a favor next time you see this old cod on the trail.....motion for him to pull over, offer him one of those Old Milwaukee's you have in the trail bag and tell him you KNOW where that sound is coming from...and offer to help him fix it.

It's the least you can do...after all this! Bone head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't want to jump on " Whitedust " but this attempt at humor has bothered me also. Maybe a unique story but snowmobiling is not represented well here. It wouldn't be that funny if it was someone in my group that this story was about. Sorry Whitedust, no offense intended. I just don't agree.

Well here it goes my Outrage Of The Day 12-22-10. Riding on 10E today way out east of Kentuck Lake Road & came up on & some feller puttin east in a jean jacket & open face helment on some old yeller sled. Conditions were pristine & I was a bit hyper but come on I knocked on the door at least 6 times & brapped you nice & loud. Everytime I knocked you centered left & looked right into the woods. Do you have hearing problem & why did you keep looking right? Made no sense too me......No sleds ever coming out of the woods & you get passed on the left why would a brapp knock alert you to look right each time? Anywho I finally wacked the fipper & you prolly got sprayed maybe woke you up brought you back from lala land.lol

Hmmm got to wonder who ran retro ridier off the trail?? I'm sure I didn't & as far as snowdust if you got a way to prevent snowdust on the trail let us all know. Like I said "prolly" don't know if he caught any dust at all.:) Retro Ridier kept looking to the right don't know if he even knew I went by in a flash could have all been a dream to him & over in a split second. I get sprayed all the time from oncoming & passing sleds don't think a thing about it all part of the sport. Funny how some people embellish a simple story & make it way more complicated that it is in reality. :D Happy Holidays whitedust

Not really sure. They were having a ball though! Most of the sleds were very small like the Polaris colts with 175's and 250's, old snow Jets with 292's. small Yamahas like vintage enticers with 250's, Small Rupps, sleds like that. Most of them were kneeling on the seats. Any ways the trails are for all snowmobilers, and life is to short to let a pokey group upset us. Sometimes I end up riding with the wifes family and they have about 30 riders in her clan that just love to ride in a group with all the kids on the hand me down sleds tucked in between the moms and dads, this group moves incredibily slow, but it does build memories for the kids as they talk about it for years later. We do watch for faster riders and do let them pass when it is safe for the group. (just felt like typing) lol.
