I've heard of Uno's and Lombardi's, but have had neither. Been to Chicago once and had a deep dish pie and I swear it was the best pizza ever, but cant remember who made it. Who makes the best??????

This is much like the best oil and fastest sled debate.

I like Palermo's.

Always been a Gino's East fan. Lou Malnatis, Giordanos, and Bill's Pub in Mundelein are always good options too.

I love Gino's East thick crust.

As for thin, Lou Malnatis is hard to beat.

Have never had Art of pizza and live just a few block away. I'll have to try it....

Pequods, Petes on Western Ave., Dino's on Higgins, Oven Grinder. Just some of my favorites and I live here in the city not the burbs.

Spent a lot of time there back in the day. Just stopped in this past summer to show the kids around. Used to eat at "Journeys End" just down the road too, they had all you could eat soup and we were poor college kids looking for cheap meals.

silo in lake bluff on chicagos north shore a good one for sure been around a long time.

Forgot about them, but you're right, great place too.

Only someone from "over by there" would compare that to a Chicago pizza.
We have Pizza Papalis here. My wife's cousin owns the franchise. He hired the chef from Gino's East and brought him here to open up downtown Detroit. Great stuff if you have a couple of hours!

Home Run Inn is a Chicago pizza. Since I live in Chicago I don't go to the tourist corp owned places. The Ma and pa ones mentioned above are the ones to hit. Palermo's on 95th happens to be me favorite .Foxes in Beverly is also good.

I'm a big fat guy, I know my pizza. Palermo's is my fav.

Stay away from anyplace that looks "nice". It's probably corporate manufactured pizza.
